This class will provide resources and information for anyone who wants to find the best deals for hotels, cruises, RV travel, Airbnb, escorted tours and more. We will answer questions about RV driving to Alaska and the western US, how to get the lowest prices for escorted tours to almost anywhere, and getting great deals on hotels while traveling at home and abroad. Information will be presented on river cruises for less, as well as airfare tips. In addition, you will go home with valuable online resources.

Beekeeping Seminar


with Peter Cowin, MSAD#1 Adult & Community Education

Calendar May 18, 2019 at 9 am

Peter Cowin, A.K.A., The Bee Whisperer, will teach a one day class designed for those planning or considering starting to keep honeybees. The class will entail 4 hours in the class room learning basic equipment, husbandry, where to locate hives and how to care for the bees, harvesting your own honey and to get them through their first winter. Weather permitting, students will open hives in the afternoon and see everything alive and buzzing. Protective equipment provided for the day, please come wearing long pants, sleeves and closed toes footwear. A full range of equipment will be available for sale so you can be prepared to order bees and start beekeeping!

Beekeeping, Intermediate

This three week intermediate level beekeeping course is designed to improve the skills of beekeepers that have had bees for at least one season. The course will emphasize practical honey bee colony management skills for beekeepers with some beekeeping experience.

To enroll in enrichment classes, particpants must be at least 18 years old and not enrolled in school.

Just in time for Father’s Day, make your very own handmade beer stein complete with your name on the front. Not a beer drinker? No problem. This project can be adjusted to make a large coffee mug. Make it for yourself or as a gift. Your finished project will be microwave and dishwasher safe and glazed in your choice of color. It will be ready for pick up just before Father’s Day. No previous clay experience is required for this class. All tools and supplies will be provided by the clay studio.

Beginner Acrylic Pour Painting 5/2

With this exciting process, you never know what beautiful patterns will be created until the paint is poured. We'll cover what types of paint and additives work best to create beautiful abstract art. This class is appropriate for any artistic skill level, from beginner to pro, who wants to learn this technique. You will be transporting your wet paintings home in a container provided by the instructor, but you may want to have some plastic or cardboard in your car for the trip home.  There is a $30 materials fee payable to the instructor at class.



Beginner Golf Section I


with James Knowles, Old Orchard Beach/Saco Adult and Community Education

Calendar Apr 29, 2019 at 4:30 pm, runs for 4 weeks

Learn the technical aspects of the long and short game including full swings, chipping and putting, and general rules. You will be capable of playing on the golf course after this class. Clubs are provided or bring your own.

Register early - this class fills fast!

Note: In case of rain, there will be an indoor rules and etiquette class at Biddeford Saco Country Club. You will be notified of weather cancellations and make up dates, if needed, by 3 PM the day of class.

Required: Sneakers or golf shoes. No jeans or T-shirts allowed. Collared shirts required.
