Fly Fishing Canoe Adventure

This four-week (two hours per week) course is designed to enable 20 students to catch Maine native fish using fly rods and flies they have tied, while negotiating the Kennebec River in their own canoe. Course includes: basic fly tying, fly casting for river fishing, preparing native fish for meals, introduction to the canoe, river canoeing practical exercise, and a team Kennebec fishing adventure. Experience the flavors of Boston’s Chinatown with cooking instructor Chris Toy! Enjoy a guided tour of Chinatown and explore the traditions, customs, and history of Chinese culture in Boston. Savor traditional Chinese Dim Sum at one of Chinatown’s oldest restaurants, where Chris and his family have been dining since before he could speak English! Don’t miss out on the action at the 40th Annual Boston Dragon Boat Festival on the Charles River! Get ready for dragon boat races, traditional arts and crafts, cultural performances and vendors, and the authentic flavors of Chinese culture! Make the most of your day in the city with international flavor! Transportation is included in the cost of the trip and will be provided by Amtrak and MBTA. Meals are not included in the cost of the trip, so please plan accordingly. Please dress appropriately for the weather; bring layers and comfortable walking shoes. Please bring snacks and a water bottle, sunscreen, and a sense of adventure!

Cirque Du Soleil is coming to Portland this summer, bringing their first ever experience on ice. Reviewers say “if Crystal comes to an arena near you, don’t miss it.” Crystal, the misfit heroine, takes you on an exhilarating tale of self-discovery as she dives into a world of her own imagination. Watch world class skaters and acrobats claim their new frozen playground with speed and fluidity as they challenge the laws of gravity with never before seen acrobatics. Crystal invites you to suspend reality and glide into a world that springs to colorful life with astounding visual projections and a soundtrack that seamlessly blends popular music with the signature sound of Cirque Du Soleil Seating is in Section G Rows 2-5. We’ll head over to Cracker Barrel for dinner (on your own) after the show. Registration fee includes motor coach transportation and show ticket. Deadline to register is April 30. The Maine Driving Dynamics course is a driver improvement course that is aimed to improve a student's defensive driving awareness and abilities. This five-hour course includes discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine's highways. A student who completes the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record. It may take up to 2 weeks for processing.
