Hurricane Island Summer Art Workshop

Have you ever wanted to attend an art retreat adventure on abeautiful island in Maine? Come join Artist and Instructor, DebArter, for a 3 day summer art workshop on beautiful HurricaneIsland. Come experience the beauty, serenity and sparkle oflight off the ocean, the shadows of tall trees in the woods andthe sound of the surf and gulls overhead. Walk the islandtrails and be inspired by the beautiful vistas including beaches,cliffs, quarries, gardens, woodland meadows and remnants ofthe old historical settlement. Students are welcome to bringacrylic, watercolor or oil paints. The instructor has an MFAin Visual Arts and has been teaching for over two decades.Deb will be incorporating plenty of time for paint sessions,lessons, critiques, demonstrations and casual evening art nightget-togethers. We will leave Rockland at 10:00am Wednesdaymorning and arrive at Hurricane Island in about one hour. Wewill have an orientation and snack; settle into the bunkhousefollowed by a hearty lunch and our first paint session. We willleave Hurricane Island at 3:00pm Friday for our boat ride backto mainland Rockland. Fee includes: two-nights lodging inrustic camp-style bunkhouses; 2 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 5 snacksand 2 dinners of delicious, wholesome food, some grown inthe gardens on the island; instruction and round trip boattransportation from Rockland, Maine (mainland) to HurricaneIsland. Participants are asked to bring their own art suppliesincluding portable easel, bedding with pillow and good walkingshoes. Electricity is only available in the Maine Dining Halland in the learning space, the Swallow’s Nest where studentswill be meeting. The Maine Bucket List: Baxter Park and Mt. Katahdin with Chris Toy

Mt. Katahdin is #2 on National Geographic’s top 10 summits worldwide! Check Baxter Park and Mt. Katahdin off your bucket list (weather permitting!) AND enjoy great camp cooking with Registered Maine Guide and chef Chris Toy for 3 days, Sept. 23 - Sept. 25. There will be a required meeting one month before the trip. This is a strenuous trip requiring uphill hiking for 6 hours at a stretch carrying a backpack weighing at least 12 lbs. Please note: Our group will stay together for the whole trip. We will gain the summit as a team or no one will.

Tour of Berlin

Whether you are interested in history, art or culture, Berlin offers it all! Guided and organized by a native from Berlin – now living in Freeport, ME - you will dive into the city from day one, and bring back unforgettable memories. Everything will be organized for you, so you can relax, while absorbing the city's vibe.
Come and join us for an informal and free Berlin Evening at the Freeport Library on September 20, 2018, at 7 p.m. On that night, Valeska Hornschild-Bear will talk about Berlin's history as well as the itineray ofthat trip. Everyone is welcome!

Zip Line Trip
with Open Sky Adventures, MSAD#1 Adult Education
Join us as we travel to Drummond, New Brunswick for a day of Zip Lining. Over 20 zips, several stations looking over the Gorge, a 40 foot climbing wall. All equipment and training provided. Please bring a bag lunch. Due to the cost of bus rental, transportation will not be provided. Our plan to car pool and convoy over!
