In this class you’ll need 12 or so basic chords, knowledge of the capo, and a sense of adventure as we go more into depth with the 1960’s Bob Dylan, Leadbelly, Iris DeMent, Bruce Springsteen, 1960’s Rolling Stones, Woody Guthrie, view more Rory Block, Leo Kottke, Beatles DVD’s and old time blues DVD’s for fun! You set the pace, but some practice will be required between classes. You can take this class without Guitar I if you have the basic knowledge. You’ll need to bring a guitar, capo, picks, tuner, and notebook. Limit 6 students.

Acting Class 101

Did you ever want to take an acting class? Brush up on your acting skills? Would you like to feel more comfortable speaking in front of a group? Have some interactive fun? This class will help jump start your imagination. We will exam the foundations of the craft of acting: character choices, movement, and relaxation. You will work on a monologue and a scene. This class will be great if you are a beginner who has had little or no acting experience – or for those who want to revisit the fundamentals of acting.

Put on your dancing shoes and get ready for some fun! You will learn Waltz, Foxtrot, Rumba, and Swing. Next time you attend a Wedding, anniversary or other social event, you will be ready to dance the night away with confidence. Whether you are a beginner or an intermediate this class is for you! Robin Shaw is certified Fred Astaire Dance Instructor. She has been teaching dance since 2002 at the Portsmouth Ballroom and other adult education programs.

Elizabeth Pouwels teaches for various organizations including the Maine Swing Dance Council and the Ballroom Dance Society of Central Maine, and is a two-time winner of Dancing with the Ellsworth Stars.

David Koenka grew up in a family of dancers and takes great pleasure in learning and sharing all he can about dance.

Need to brush up on your dance moves for an upcoming event or just for fun?  This is the class for you.  The Tune-Up is intended for those with some beginner dance experience who would like to learn a new step or two to add to their repertoire and to practice what they already know.  Join us for fun on the dance floor. No street shoes please!
