Global Dance Party
with Emma Holder, Portland Adult Education
This dance fitness class includes music of Salsa, Swing, Merengue, Tango, Cha Cha, Reggaeton, Bellydance, African and more. For 45 minutes, participants will bust stress, boost energy and burn calories while using traditional and unique moves to fabulous music. Improvisation encouraged. This course also includes 15 minutes of core work to support your back, your dance, and your life. Bring a mat, sneakers and water bottle. $6 drop in or $50 for 10 class card can be used for all Emma's M/T/W classes. Online Registration is not available for this course. Come on over and have a great time with us. We learn how to play different chords, melodies and various guitar techniques as well as the basics of music. Bring in a favorite song to learn and enjoy learning new ones. No experience needed.
If you have played before, but have reached a plateau and need a refresher or are ready for new challenges, I do a special lesson set to fit your specific guitar needs.
Class may be taken more than once….every class is different. This is a wonderful way to get out of the house, relax, have fun with others and learn a musical skill.
Ballroom Dance for Beginners

Are you the couple that is always uncomfortable to get up on the dance floor at weddings and other social functions? Jon Miele can teach anyone to dance, and ensure that they have fun along the way. By the end of this course you will know the basics in Waltz, Fox Trot, Swing, and Cha Cha, along with some other surprise fun dances. Don’t be afraid to take this important step; it is a guarantee that your life will be enriched from this fun experience.

The Joy of Uke

Join Dana Reed (aka, Capt’n Uke) for his redesigned, streamlined and condensed 6-week format that allows greater one-on-one instruction. Students will be introduced to basic 2 and 3 chord songs encompassing Rock and Roll, Country, Swing, and the Blues that provide instant playing access to thousands of songs! These songs will also give students easily recognizable chord patterns and two basic strumming essentials used in countless songs. Capt’n Uke will also introduce singing with your uke in a fun and very non-threatening way. What’s “Folsom Prison Blues”, unless you give it your best Johnny Cash?
