Beginner Golf Section II

Calendar Apr 29, 2019 at 5:30 pm, runs for 4 weeks

Learn the technical aspects of the long and short game including full swings, chipping and putting, and general rules. You will be capable of playing on the golf course after this class. Clubs are provided or bring your own.

Register early - this class fills fast!

Note: In case of rain, there will be an indoor rules and etiquette class at Biddeford Saco Country Club. You will be notified of weather cancellations and make up dates, if needed, by 3 PM the day of class.

Required: Sneakers or golf shoes. No jeans or T-shirts allowed. Collared shirts required.

Jim Knowles, a PGA professional for 35+ years, is head professional and director of instructor at clubs in ME and MA. He has helped 100's of players enjoy the game of a lifetime and looks forward to helping many more!

Beginner Guitar - Session II

Participants will learn about guitar mechanics and maintenance, chord strumming, scales, music theory and basic music reading that will help you play your favorite popular songs. This class will be set at a gradual pace, with individualized attention and emphasis on understanding and enjoyment. Students are asked to bring a guitar to class (instructor will have 1-2 on hand). Register early; this class will take only 10 students. In this class we will work on full beginner repertoire, 18 classic pilates exercises, as originated by Joseph Pilates. Everyone will be working at a level that is right for them. I will keep introducing variations and intermediate exercises to keep us engaged and inspired to keep growing.

Please bring a thick exercise/yoga mat for adequate cushioning of the spine.

 

Beginner Swing Dance

Beginner swing dancing is fun, active, and social! You don't need a partner and you don't need any experience. This 8-week progressive session will cover the basics of partnered 1930s Charleston. A 30-minute practice session follows class. Students should wear comfortable clothing and bring clean, smooth-soled shoes to change into at the class venue to keep the floor clean. Class takes place at The Dance Hall in Kittery, ME.

Beginner to Intermediate Horsemanship W19

Learn horse handling and horsemanship skills in a positive atmosphere. This “hands-on” course is designed for those who are planning to become new horse owners or have recently become new horse owners without prior experience. Students will be paired or grouped up, depending on class size, and assigned a horse for hands-on instruction. Students will learn safe handling, proper positioning around the horse, training techniques in reference to groundwork, general equine facts on health and safety and proper tacking up and fit. Students will need a digital thermometer, boots with a heel (or hiker style high tops shoes) and optional leather gloves. Student limit 8

Discover the hottest, happiest musical instrument around! On it you can play folk music, rock, blues, pop, country, classical, reggae, bossa nova, jazz. Our beginners’ ukulele course is meant for people with no musical background – even people who think they are musically challenged! And, you don't even need to know how to read music! You will learn the essentials of playing ukulele in a relaxed setting -- from a popular and seasoned ukulele teacher. Using familiar songs, he introduces you to chords, strumming, and finger picking. You do need to have a playable ukulele and an electronic tuner or tuner app. Get ready to have blast making music! Duncan, a multi-instrumentalist, has been playing ukulele for 11 years and has so far taught ukulele to over 350 adults.
