Escape the summer heat and join a welcoming community of knitters for a fun and relaxed evening of creativity and connection!

This class is open to all skill levels—from complete beginners to those looking to refresh their skills—and creates a supportive space where knitters can learn from one another while sharing their passion for the craft. Beginners will learn how to cast on, master the knit and purl stitches, build confidence reading patterns, and pick up helpful tips for fixing common mistakes. More experienced knitters are encouraged to share ideas, support fellow makers, and enjoy time spent stitching together in good company.

Instructor Vicky brings years of knitting experience and knowledge, along with enthusiasm, encouragement, and a lighthearted approach that makes every class enjoyable and welcoming for all.

The whole thing seems like a mystery with too few clues to solve. Aaron Manning, a Licensed Insurance Agent with HealthMarkets, can answer many of the questions you may have about Medicare, from the beginning of the process on. He will discuss: when you are eligible, what is the timeline for enrollment without penalties, what original Medicare covers and what it doesn’t, what additional plans work in conjunction with original Medicare, and your financial assistance options.

Hike, snowshoe, geocache, hunt, and enjoy the woods and fields of Maine with confidence that you can read a topographic map, understand the symbols, know which way a river flows, plot a course bearing, use online resources, and how to get to safety. Familiarization to using a compass and map outdoors included. There is homework to practice in between each class. Students will have access to an online textbook. Perfect for future Registered Maine Guides or Trip Leaders. Students must have a DeLorme Maine Gazetteer, and a 2-degree baseplate compass. This course is offered via Zoom over two sessions. This is a LEVEL 1 program.
