Tae Kwon Do for Adults Fall/Winter

Tae Kwon Do is a great way to beacom physically and mentally fit while having fun! Learn valuable life long skills: respect, self confidence and courage, all while practiving self defense techniques. We stress going at your own pace and strive to help you on your journey.
Free Uniform for your FIRST session! (beginners are asked to arrive at 5:30 and stay for the second class as well)

Voices of Men: Book Club

This is just a group of guys who read books by men and who want to think deeply about them. This facilitated discussion group will refine your reading experience. The first book for September will be A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman. Participants will help select some of the books. Gentle Vinyasa Flow Yoga-3

Vinyasa connects breath with movement, and these classes will guide you gently through sun salutations, some standing and seated postures, and end with quieting and meditative postures. Suitable for all skill levels, classes will help improve your strength, flexibility, balance and mindfulness. Alignment cues are given throughout to keep you safe. Classes are uniquely woven together so each time you step on the mat you’ll experience a new journey! You will leave feeling refreshed, energized and strengthened.

Voices of Women: Book Club
with Rebecca Dawson Webb, York Adult Education
Enrich your reading experience in this facilitated book discussion group for women. We will read one book a month, and participants will help select some of the books. Rebecca Dawson Webb is a long time writing coach, teacher, and editor who leads memoir and therapeutic writing workshops. As a scholar/facilitator for the Maine Humanities Council, she is passionate about supporting productive, meaningful conversations. Wednesday, 6:30-8:30pm, Cost: $29 (per session=3 meetings) Meeting Dates: March 18, April 15, May 20. The book choice for March is Manhattan Beach by Jennifer Egan.
Getting Paid to Talk: An Intro to Voice Over / Online Course
with Voices Coaches, Gray-New Gloucester Adult & Community Education
This in-depth web-based class takes you behind-the-scenes into the studio to explore the enormous growth in professional voice acting. From commercials and training material to audiobooks, gaming, education, on-hold messaging, and more, get an inside look at how ordinary people with clear communication skills pursue great voice acting opportunities. This class is presented via the internet and is best suited for viewing on a device connected via wifi. The class includes video and audio. There is also a workbook section that can be downloaded for permanent reference. After purchase, receive instructions, including a unique password, that will allow you to access the class for 48 hours once logged in. Final portion of the class includes multiple choice review and instructions to schedule a one-on-one voice review. To ensure organized scheduling, voice reviews should be scheduled within one week of class participation.
