Evolutionary Astrology II

The archetype of Pluto may represent both your greatest gift and your deepest wound. According to astrology, its placement in your birth chart speaks to an empowerment journey through which you may be learning and evolving. In this workshop you will gain insight on how to interpret Pluto in a birth chart.

There are no prerequisites for the class. Participants are encouraged to email their birth information (date, place, time) to the instructor, Rob at rob@innercenterastrology.com, prior to the start of the class. He will provide a copy of your birth chart in class. It would be optimal to have your exact birth time available (documented on your birth certificate) but is not necessary.

Gentle Yoga w/ Heather (Winter Sessions)

This gentle class is for those looking to stretch, connect to the breath and practice traditional yoga postures, at a slow pace. We gently and safely encourage our muscle tissues to deeply lengthen and stretch, increasing range of motion and flexibility. Conscious intention and awareness are given to the breath, strengthening the nervous system and deepening the connection to mind and body. This class is designed for new, as well as, seasoned yogis looking for a mindful, gentle practice. *No Class: 2/17, 2/18.

Five String Banjo for the Absolute Beginner

The five-string banjo is a blast to play! If you’ve got a yen for learning to play the five-string that has been sitting in a closet, your time has arrived!Even if you don’t have a banjo, your time is now! We can help you find one if you’re keen to learn to play this magical instrument. Our program is an introduction to the five-string banjo for absolute beginners (be aware 0 a four string banjo won’t do for this course). Together with instructor Duncan Perry, you’ll cover banjo setup, tuning, and care, then focus on learning the folk style playing popularized be Pete Seeger, and explore the clawhammer style used by country and old-time enthusiasts like Grandpa Jones, Riley Baugus, and Rhiannon Giddens. The goal is to set you on a path to developing your own style of banjo playing. If you don’t have access to a playable five-string banjo, we’ll put you in touch with Duncan who can advise about buying one. After all, every day should be a banjo day!

History of Malaga Island

Learn about the eviction of a complete community living on Malaga Island in Casco Bay in 1912. Learn the prehistory of the island's use by our indigenous people and post history of the island after the eviction. Learn a bit about the mainland African American village in coastal Maine that no longer exists but predated the Malaga Island Colony. Visit the island remotely through a slide show created by Master Maine Guide, Alice. Course is presented via Zoom.

Fired Up: Intermediate Wheel Throwing

Ready to take your pottery skills to the next level? Join instructor Cynthia Plaisted for this 5-week intermediate wheel throwing class designed for students who have completed a beginner wheel course and are comfortable with basic centering and throwing techniques. In this class, students will build on foundational skills while learning how to create taller forms, refine shaping techniques, explore trimming and finishing methods, and experiment with more advanced projects on the wheel. Cynthia will provide guidance and demonstrations to help students strengthen their confidence, consistency, and creativity at the wheel. Whether you’re aiming for smoother cylinders, better bowls, or pottery that actually survives the kiln intact, this class is the perfect next step in your clay journey. 

Clay and glaze cost is $50, due to the instructor at the first class.

Registered Maine Guide Training Course

Train to become a working Registered Maine Guide not just a test taker. Learn the skills that guides use daily including: map & compass, coastal navigation, shelter building, separated client searches, cooking, advanced first aid, weather predicting, trip planning, canoeing, snowshoeing, SUP’ng, id’s, plus specialty skills for future guides for these specialties: Recreation, Sea kayaking, Tidewater Fishing, Inland Fishing, and Hunting. This ten-session hybrid program includes Zoom, optional all-day skill workshops, and homework assignments. Optional skills workshops are at an additional cost. Those thinking of becoming a Registered Maine Guide will need to take a first aid and CPR course, not included. This 10-wk course is taught online over Zoom. *No Class: 2/16.

Double Wedding Ring Quilt

Evolutionary Astrology III

Continuing from what was learned in Evolutionary Astrology I, we will look at planetary aspects to the South Node.  We will focus on the hard aspects including the conjunction, square, and opposition. From the perspective of astrology, these aspects suggest what types of external archetypal influences and situations we may have faced in the past - and insight on how to move beyond them with compassion and wisdom.

It is highly suggested that participants have taken Past-Life Astrology I.  Participants have the option to email their birth information (date, place, time) to the instructor prior to the start of the class (rob@innercenterastrology.com) and he will provide a copy of your birth chart.
