You will learn: important SSA forms and timelines; the “parts” of Medicare; how and when to apply; plans and general benefits. Alan Minthorn, Owner of Maine Senior Insurance, LLC, is a licensed and certified senior health insurance products broker. He has held licensure since 1991.

BLAST! Babysitter Lessons and Safety Training Program (the Second Edition) published by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is an important program for babysitters. It is exciting and interactive and provides training in pediatric first aid, household safety, and the fundamentals of childcare. We will cover the most current practices for safety and injury prevention, First Aid basics for emergency, quick references tools for babysitters, and a fun, easy-to-follow booklet. The program will prepare you to interview for a babysitting job, select safe and suitable games and activities, prevent accidents, perform first aid and CPR, and begin babysitting safely and competently. Designed for young people ages 12 and older who are interested in learning the skills for babysitting. A parent or guardian must accompany young people 12 to 17, but they do not need to pay/register. A $20 material fee is payable to the instructor at start of class - includes book and certificate. Please pre-register by Mar. 25. Limit 12 students.

fertilizer for your garden, chickens are also a lot of fun.  This class will cover all the basics of caring for your flock, including feed, housing, breed selection, brooding chicks, health care and predator protection.

This class will teach you the basics of trail cameras, including where and how to set up - and how to secure one for monitoring wildlife movements for research or simply for the enjoyment of knowing what is in the woods around your home.

Put on your dancing shoes and get ready for some fun! You will learn Waltz, Foxtrot, Rumba, and Swing. Next time you attend a Wedding, anniversary or other social event, you will be ready to dance the night away with confidence. Whether you are a beginner or an intermediate this class is for you! Robin Shaw is certified Fred Astaire Dance Instructor. She has been teaching dance since 2002 at the Portsmouth Ballroom and other adult education programs.

Make a name for a newlywed, new baby, Business Open/Closed, or anything you would like a banner for. Four sewing machines are available; however, you can bring your own. *Supplies needed- Rotary Cutters, Ruler, Matching thread. Fabric colors you like: ¼ yard each of eight to ten fabrics that work together. Four light colors and four dark colors for eight fabrics; five light colors and five dark colors for ten fabrics.

Bartender Mixology: Delicious Summer Drinks

SVACE is again presenting a class on how to create some basic and unique mixed drinks that will enhance your entertaining. The May class of Mixology will provide great ideas for summer drinks to relax with by the pool, on the deck, or wherever you may be enjoying your summer. Materials fee of $5 cash is payable at the first class. Please preregister as we need a minimum of 4 people to run the course. Ages 21+.
