Invasive Bittersweet Basket

Frustrating to gardeners and arborists, bittersweet is considered a largely useless bane on wildland. Wouldn’t it be nice if it were good for something? We can use ancient harvesting techniques to tend invasive bittersweet in the wild, simultaneously harvesting material for baskets while managing future growth.
Learn to weave a bittersweet basket. We'll employ several different weaving techniques in order to create a strong, beautiful basket for foraging, or use in the kitchen or garden. We’ll shoot for a basket about 9” wide and 7” deep, with or without a handle. This is a class for beginners, but some hand strength and dexterity is required.
Materials fee is included in the cost of the class!

Ceramics Open Studio

Come join us as we explore the wonders of clay! You will develop and use it to create unique pieces of your own design through a variety of techniques. You will be encouraged to try the manual and electric wheels, roller, carving tools, and beautiful glazes to bring the pieces you imagine to life. Beginners to experts welcome.
Class scheduled as follows;
Classes 1-4: For creation
Class 5: Prepping pieces for firing
Class 6: Glazing pieces
Clay and glaze cost is $45 due to the instructor at the first class.
There is a max of 15 students per session.

Crocheting 102: Crochet Basket

Ready to take your crocheting to another level? Join Elizabeth in this 3-night class where she will teach you how to make a cute crochet basket! This class is a great way for beginner-intermediate crocheters to try their hand at something a little more complex. Though it's a simple pattern, students should have a strong foundational understanding of crocheting.
SUPPLIES:
• One Skein (120yd approx) #4 (medium) cotton yarn
• Single H crochet hook
• Scissors for snipping
• Yarn needle

Estate Planning and Revocable Trusts & Irrevocable Trusts

This class will begin with an overview of basic estate planning, including Wills,Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives, etc. The class will then delve into,learning how revocable trusts can help avoid probate and protect your privacy, andhow irrevocable trusts can protect your assets from nursing home or Maine Care(Medicaid) liens. Discussion will include other strategies to safeguard assets from life events such as business failure or divorce of adult children.
Kathryn Bedell is a lawyer in York, Maine and has been practicing for 31 years. Her practice focuses on estate planning, asset preservation, and probate matters.

Come join us to visit and see the new three floor addition to the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem Massachusetts. We will start with a private tour. After the tour, you will be able to enjoy the museum on your own. We will finish the museum visit at 12:30. We will have lunch (which is included in the price) at the historical Hawthorne Inn with a choice of one of four menu selections. We will return to Wells High School approximately at 4:00.Limit of 7 people.

You know quilting…machine, fabrics, large surface areas…..UGH. Now you can create a beautiful frameable quilt made from luxurious paper!!! Using geometric and decorative paper punches, canvas boards, and quilt square designs, create a gorgeous paper quilt square you can frame. Jeffrey has been creating actual quilts since he was a young guy growing up with quilting grandmothers in the mountains of West Virginia . He has switched to creating paper quilt collages and is eager to share with you this new type of art. You will leave with your own frameable piece of quilt art.
