Taking the hunter safety course is your getaway into a proud community of conservationists who help manage wildlife, support research, and fund critical habitat work through licenses and excise taxes. With over 17 million acres of pristine land and waterways, Maine offers some of the best hunting experiences in the nation. Minimum participants 6.

Winter Gnome Crochet

This is a beginner friendly Corner to Corner (C2C) Crochet class. Students will learn how to crochet projects by working from one corner of a piece to the opposite corner. Unlike traditional row by row crochet, C2C builds fabric in a staircase-like pattern, making it ideal for graph based designs, colorwork, and geometric shapes. Minimum of 7 participants. Maximum of 8 participants.

Introductory Sashiko Stitching

This is an introductory hands-on class designed to learn the “ins and outs” of the Japanese running stitch technique called Sashiko. We’ll discuss the history of this beautiful and utilitarian stitching; types of fabrics, threads & needles; learn basic traditional patterns and how to transfer them, and use some of the tools that help make this a mindful and enjoyable pastime. We’ll create a small sampler of stitches and patterns, which can then be made into a potholder, a small quilt. Fabric, thread and tools are supplied, along with many handouts that will help you continue your journey long after class is over. *A materials fee of $25 is due to the instrcutor on the first night of class.

 Join us for a fun, no pressure knitting experience! This 6-week knitting class is great for not only beginners, but for anyone who may be a little rusty. You'll learn how to cast on, master the basic and purl stitches, learn some tips and tricks on repairing mistakes, and learn how to read a pattern! Vicky is a passionate knitter and always makes classes fun for her students. 


Cant make a full session? Student drop-ins are welcome! Drop-In fee is $13 per class.

Beginner Book Binding

This class introduces the vocabulary of the book, the tools and materials needed for making beginner books. On the first evening we will hand decorate our papers, using different mark-making tools in calligraphic ways. The second night we will stitch two pamphlet books, binding them with soft and hard covers. Finally we will create pocket accordion books and begin to consider how to fill them. A materials fee of $20 payable to the instructor is due on the first night. Tools will also be provided.

This year, add some handmade ornaments to your collection in this fun and festive ceramics class! The first class will be for ornament creation; the second class will be focused on glazing those ornaments; and the third class we will add ribbon or twine hangers to finish your lovel creations!
