This is a beginner/slightly intermediate class that does not increase in difficulty. It focuses on everyone meeting for community and having fun. I choreograph light and easy, short dances to 80’s through current rock/pop songs. We break them down, then rehearse them 3-4 times before doing it to music. We usually get through 4 or 5 dances in one hour. The goal is to experience the basics of line dancing with confidence, relaxation, and joy. *This program runs for 3 weeks per session.

This 60 minute, energetic, fun-filled dance fitness class features a fusion of easy to follow dance moves, resistance training, yoga and kickboxing, all choreographed to popular music! The class is designed for all fitness levels with safe and effective moves to give a total body workout! Students should bring a mat and weights. Class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays.

In this two week workshop, we will explore two-dimensional needle-felting techniques to create fiber tapestries. Students will learn how to build images with wool while focusing on color usage and basic drawing techniques. Students may also incorporate other media, such as embroidery, if desired. No experience is required! Needle-felting materials and tools will be provided and are included in the price of the course.

We’ll cover how a painful ending can be the start of a new beginning with practical tools as well as best practices for emotional, physical, and mental health to get you on the road to re-finding your joy and thriving. This class is dedicated to helping you understand smartphone photography by teaching you how to take and create great images on your phone, what editing apps to use, and how to share and print your images. Join Steve as we go over how to use essential controls on your phone along with the best free and low-cost tools for editing and image management. *This class is for beginners.

These one-day workshops are designed to introduce students to the corresponding 5wk courses. Though these workshops are not a prerequisite for the courses, it is an opportunity to meet the instructor and preview lesson plans before committing to the full class. Loneliness and social isolation in older adults is a serious public health risk that affects a significant number of people in the US, putting them at risk for dementia and other serious conditions. For this reason, Tony Dancer, under his TDF program, has created the “Young at Heart Fiesta” Latin Fusion dance class program with low impact, low-volume music to protect hearing, easy steps to follow and lots of laughter. This program is offered free of charge with Tony Dancer, plus once a month potlucks! Adults with strong social relationships have a lower risk of major health problems, such as depression, high blood pressure, and an unhealthy body mass index. *Program is for individuals 70+ only.

This all-levels class explores botanical illustration with watercolor, pen and ink. Students will learn principles of scientific illustration through painting subjects ranging from wildflowers to fish, focusing on observational drawing and precision watercolor painting techniques. Students can either buy themselves the required materials or they can buy material kits from the Mix, an art store in Brunswick.
