English Language Acquisition

If you are someone you know would benefit from English Language Acquisition classes, please contact us. Instruction is based on everyday living skills at home, work, and community. And it is free for qualifying students.
Online HiSET Test Preperation
with Steve Vose, Maranacook Adult Education
NEW to this year’s educational program are the online HiSET tutoring and instructional resources. Students can study and achieve their dream of achieving a high school diploma from the comfort of their home. A limited supply of laptops and internet ports will be available for students who do not have the necessary technology.

Registration - HiSET, Diploma, College Transitions and Adult Basic Education

This is where your future begins! Whether you are looking to complete your high school education (diploma or HiSET) or want to brush off skills for college, this is the first step. During this scheduled one-on-one meeting, we will walk you through all the registration paperwork, set your personalized schedule and give a clear picture of how our program works and what you can expect. You will also complete our CASAS intake testing to give us an idea of where you are academically and give us a starting point to set you on your path to a new future. Please plan on the process taking at least 2 hours. You may bring a parent, spouse or friend with you.
New student registrations are being accepted but will be processed when our office reopens in August.
You will need to bring your Social Security Number and any past transcripts you may have.
You will receive a phone call from our office in August to confirm your registration and to answer any questions you may have. We look forward to working with you!

Typing Skills for ESOL Students

This instructor-monitored class is designed for any ESOL student who wants to learn or improve typing skills essential for success in many other classes and in everyday life. Good typing skills also make it easier to navigate mobile devices such as tablets and cellphones. Students will learn using Typing.com, an online learning software through lessons, games, and more to take the learner from beginner to advanced in self-paced lessons done from home. Students who do not have a keyboard-based device, desktop computer, or other technology may be eligible for a loan of such while participating in this course.
