Ultimate Beginner Watercolor

In this 1-day class, you'll learn everything you need to know to get started with watercolor painting. We will have an in-depth conversation about paper and pads, paint, palettes, and brushes. After a review of color theory, we'll fill in a color wheel and paint a small illustration printed on watercolor paper. All materials provided. *A $20 materials fee to be paid to the instructor on the night of class.
Using Your Compass Outdoors

We’ll be outside practicing how to follow and set bearings and navigation tricks of the trade in the light and in the dark! A compass never runs out of batteries or fails to connect with a satellite. *Students should have taken Map & Compass Level 1 or have experience using compasses with maps. **Students must have a headlamp, a flashlight and a 2-degree baseplate compass.

Introduction to Black & White Film Photography

Have you always wanted to try black and white photography? Are you tired of the digital world and ready to make real pictures you can hold in your hands? Come take advantage of Noble’s excellent darkroom facilities and learn the basics of developing your own black and white film! In this 3-week course we will cover everything from basic camera controls and exposure, through the art of composting good black and white photographs and then how to develop your film. The lab fee will cover the use of the darkroom and costs for chemicals and upkeep.
Participants will need to bring: their own working 35mm camera and two rolls of Kodax TRI-X 400 36-exposure film. A link for where you can purchase the film will be provided.
A lab fee of $15 is due at the start of the class.
