Beginner Line Dancing to Rock/Pop Songs

This is a beginner/slightly intermediate class that does not increase in difficulty. It focuses on everyone meeting for community and having fun. I choreograph light and easy, short dances to 80’s through current rock/pop songs. We break them down, then rehearse them 3-4 times before doing it to music. We usually get through 4 or 5 dances in one hour. The goal is to experience the basics of line dancing with confidence, relaxation, and joy. *This program runs for 3 weeks per session on the specified dates: 3/17, 3/24, 3/31 (March Session); 4/14, 4/21, 4/28 (April Session) and 6/9, 6/16, 6/23 (June Session).
Video Portraits

How do you paint a portrait through the art of the moving image? Whether of a person, a place, or a moment in time, this course explores the medium of video as a heart centered tool for portraiture in narrative video, honoring life and the world around us. Through short form video documentaries that weave spoken interview, recorded video, and poetic cinematography, create new video work that honors the mythological grandeur of everyday life.
WATERCOLOR S2 Intermediate

Learn and practice a variety of techniques and approaches specific to watercolor painting. Whether a beginner or experienced, enjoy a relaxing and supportive environment to paint from references, still life objects and observation. You will receive feedback and see what others are working on. Bring ideas for projects to class for instruction tailored to your needs, or participate in guided exercises to gain a deeper understanding of this medium. You may bring your own supplies, if you prefer to purchase your own supplies, please request a materials list at registration.

Come learn about the licensing process and the different ways you can help Maine children. There is a special need for people who can care for infants, sibling groups, and adolescents, while also supporting the reunification process. There are also over 100 children waiting to find a forever family. Join us for this informational meeting and take that very first step to becoming a resource family.
You can take this class on ZOOM from home or come to the high school where we’ll take care of the tech. Please indicate if you will be attending in person or from home upon registration.

Cuban Salsa: Beginners

In this class, students will learn the basics of Salsa footwork and some simple, fun moves that will get you out on the dance floor. You will learn how to connect with any partner, and build confidence dancing to different styles and tempos and music. Students will be introduced to the famous Salsa Rueda. Partner is recommended.
