After a 32-year career as an engineer and leader at National Semiconductor/Texas Instruments, he followed his passion for writing and education. His beloved "Noah" children's series encourages imagination, kindness, and a lifelong love of reading.

This class is presented by NE Food Safety. Learn what you need to stay safe, keep customers safe and pass the CFPM exam. All key points are covered, from cleaning and sanitization to cooking temperatures, purchasing, and proper methods of food preparation and delivery. Price includes unlimited practice questions, book, class, and proctored exam. Students will be taught information in a variety of manners, including an exciting round of Food Jeopardy. Your instructor will be bilingual (Spanish/English), with over a decade of experience instructing adult learners at hospitals, VAs, colleges and universities, restaurants and hotels, and more. Upon completion of this course participants will receive a certificate of completion. *This certification program runs concurrently with the food manager class. Students may opt to take the food manager exam during the last night, on 4/29 if they desire.

New season, new projects!

Join us for a fun and creative wire wrapping class where you’ll learn techniques to create your own beautiful wire-wrapped pieces - no matter your experience level! Whether you’re brand new or looking to sharpen your skills, this class is for you. There will be several projects to select from. Let’s get wrapping and make something magical together! All skill levels are welcome. Please bring round nose jewelry pliers with you if you have them, and you can bring your own stones if you’d like.

A materials fee of $10 per project is due to the instructor at the start of the class. Beth will also have additional jewelry kits available for purchase.

Discover the Spanish language through conversation, culture, and cooking! In this beginner-friendly class, you'll learn practical vocabulary and phrases for everyday situations while building confidence through interactive discussions and activities. Each session also features a hands-on cooking experience, where you'll prepare traditional Mexican dishes while practicing Spanish in a relaxed and supportive environment. Whether you're new to the language or looking for a fun way to refresh your skills, this course offers a delicious introduction to Spanish and Mexican culture.

What You'll Learn

Week 1: Spanish Basics & Enchiladas Learn how to introduce yourself, talk about your interests, and practice basic conversation while preparing traditional enchiladas.

Week 2: Everyday Verbs & Sopes de Tinga Build your vocabulary with common verbs and simple grammar, then put your skills into practice while making authentic sopes de tinga.

Week 3: Building Sentences & Bistec Ranchero Learn how to form questions and complete sentences, gain confidence speaking Spanish, and prepare a classic bistec ranchero meal.

Week 4: Spanish Cooking Challenge & Presentation Work as a team to prepare a traditional dish and agua fresca using the skills you've learned throughout the course, then present your creation in Spanish.

MEET JUANA!
Juana Williams is an Environmental Engineer, native Spanish speaker, and fluent English communicator who has called Maine home for the past three years. Passionate about nature and the environment, she also enjoys cooking authentic Mexican cuisine. Inspired by a longing for the flavors of home, Juana began preparing traditional Mexican dishes and loves sharing them with family and friends.

We’re partnering with Parsons Memorial Library to bring a guest speaker to the second Toddler Time of each month. Learn more about resources available for families while your kids play in the library. Second Thursdays of the month, pre-registration required.

September 9th: September's speaker will be Pam Leo from the Book Fairy Pantry Project presenting "Literacy and Bonding."

October 8th: October's speaker will be Mallory Gott from MaineHealth presenting "Toe Walking Tips: Helping your child walk with flat feet."

December 10th: December's speaker will be Melinda Corey from Help Me Grow presenting "Developmental Milestones and Car Seat Safety."

Join us for this combo of Vinyasa and Hatha yoga styles for a slower paced, feel-good flow class. Expect smooth transitions between postures with some holds for strength. Slow flow emphasizes form and alignment, better balance, body awareness, and feeling revitalized! This is a beginner to intermediate class with movement from floor to standing, modifications of movement will be provided. Bring a yoga mat, 2 yoga blocks, and a strap. Blocks and straps are available to borrow if you do not have your own.

This class will help you develop a road map of your life's story.  Your map will guide your writing and keep you on task to write a comprehensive account of your personal history.
