Negotiation for Women in Business

This course defines negotiation and reviews the importance of advocating for yourself and your interests. Because negotiation tends to be characterized in a stereotypically masculine way, this course considers some of the challenges that women tend to face when negotiating. The course reviews key negotiation concepts such as BATNA and ZOPA as well as common negotiation mistakes and the five stages of the negotiation process. The course-takers will also engage in negotiation scenarios for opportunities to prepare for common situations they may encounter.

Networking and Mentorship for Women in Business

Making meaningful connections can be critical to professional success. Although many find networking to be difficult, it is a learned skill that can improve with technique and practice. This course introduces techniques and strategies for networking, finding mentors, and attracting sponsors, as well as common anxieties and obstacles that people face when trying to expand their professional connections. It highlights the ways that networking can be both particularly difficult and especially important for women in business.

Nonprofit Management (ACE CREDIT®)
with MindEdge Instructor, MSAD#1 Adult & Community Education
This online course introduces learners to current management issues for nonprofit organizations. Video commentary on these crucial topics provides insight into how nonprofit professionals apply key concepts in their own organizations. The self-paced course offers an assortment of interactive exercises, videos, selected readings, case studies, and self-assessments that engage students and provide opportunities to practice effective decision making in a nonprofit setting.

This course has been evaluated by The American Council on Education's College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT®) with a recommendation of 3 credits, lower division, in nonprofit management and leadership.
A student's grade in the course will be based on their performance on a final, cumulative exam. The final exam is composed of 50 multiple-choice questions. Students will have 2 hours to complete the exam. The exam is proctored. For more information, please see the syllabus.
If students do not earn a passing score of 70% on their first attempt, they will have the opportunity to take the exam 2 additional times (3 total attempts). Students must wait 24 hours between exam retakes. A passing score of 70% of above is required to request college credit for this certificate.

Operations Management

This course explores the fundamental concepts and theories practitioners will need to successfully guide operations in manufacturing and service organizations. The Sales Agent Online Class
with Center for Real Estate Studies of Maine, Merrymeeting Community & Adult Education
This 55-hour remote learning real estate agent course, approved by the Maine Real Estate Commission, is a prerequisite to taking the Pearson VUE state licensing exam. Based on the book, Introduction to a Successful Career in Maine Real Estate, by Charles “Kim” Coit, its content includes material that is basic to the practice of real estate in Maine. This class is ongoing and the student can start as soon as they register. PDF copy of book is provided, $35 for hard copy.
Noble Striders

Bringing Community Together, One Step At A Time
Since 2001, we have opened our doors to welcome community members to walk our multiple indoor and outdoor walking routes throughout the Noble High School property. Indoor routes range from 1/3 to 1/2 mile. If you’re up for a challenge, you have the option of including stairs in your workout. The outdoor routes are about a mile in distance. This is a great way to get in some exercise, especially during the cold New England months. Bring a friend or come as a family. All are welcome! Not to mention, joining is FREE!
To join, just drop by the main office to sign in and pick up a name tag. When you're done, you just sign out and drop off your name tag. Join the fun and become a Noble Strider!

Medical Coding
with Academy of Medical Professions, RSU 19 Adult Education
In-depth medical coding for CPC certification through AAPC. This program is designed to teach all aspects of medical coding, provide you with the skills needed to become nationally certified and get into the job market as a Certified Professional Coder. This certificate program includes Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, 2 CPC-A exam attempts, AAPC membership, 3 practice CPC tests and all books. Basic computer skills are required.
