Microsoft Excel Advanced (Dec)
with Val Landry, Ellsworth Adult and Community Education
You will learn how to hide data, split and freeze a window, create ranges, understand the name manager, learn additional functions, copy and paste special, sort data, and learn the power of filters. Some examples of using Microsoft Excel as a practical tool include the amortization table, 20 top functions companies want their employees to know, and pivot tables.
The design of this course includes 2-3 hours of work with the software between classes to gain maximum benefit from the sessions.
You will receive a link to a brief pre-assessment with your email receipt. This will assist the instructor in meeting your goals for the class.
You will want to have Microsoft Excel on your computer for this workshop and many people find it helpful to have two monitors, though it is certainly not necessary to benefit from the sessions. There are two ways to accomplish this: 1) attach an external screen to your computer (contact our program if you need technical assistance with that); or 2) using two computers (one for Excel and the other for the ZOOM meeting). This is a live, online class using ZOOM; makeup class, if needed, 01/02/25.

NEW Balsam Gnomes
with Jessica Steele, Midcoast Adult & Community Education
Who loves Gnomes? In this class, we will make giant holiday gnomes out of balsam, fir, and white pine while using the framework of a tomato cage. To finish them off, we will add a nose and large holiday hat. These Gnomes will be about 3-feet high and perfect for your holiday season. We will also make smaller gnomes that can be a holiday decoration or used for a cork stopper in your holiday wine. They are very cute for that small holiday gift. Finally, we will learn how to collect and process balsam for your own balsam fir bags/pillows. Another perfect gift for yourself or a loved one.
