Basic Auto Care

This course is designed to acquaint you with common mechanical problems and general auto maintenance skills. Tires, windshield wipers, fluids, jump starting, and other items will be discussed to help you to look after your car. There will be questions and possibly answers, most likely stories and demos.
Basic Watercolor from Life

Watercolor is a great medium for creating artwork from life. Inthis course we will create watercolor drawings of still life objects.Topics discussed will include colors and how to mix them, brushes, basic techniques including wash and dry brush, process, and art supplies. A suggested supply list will be provided. 4 weeks, Registration: $85
Block Printing
with Annie Trowbridge, Portland Adult Education

Block printing is a process of printing an image by carving a linoleum stamp, rolling it with ink, and pressing it on paper. Just like a stamp! The carving process is very satisfying and your image can be simple or complex. Open to beginners! The teacher will contact you about supplies.

Country & Latin Line Dancing Section 2
with Elizabeth Richards, Old Orchard Beach/Saco Adult Education

Learn a few line dances to bust out when a line dancing opportunity presents itself or simply because you want to try something new! Discover classic country line dances and popular Latin rhythms, including rumba, cha cha, salsa, and more, in this fun, energetic class! Specific music and pattern requests will be taken the first night and taught whenever possible. All levels welcome! No partner required. Wear comfortable clothing and soft-soled shoes.
Elizabeth Richards has been teaching dance for more than 20 years. She loves watching the moment that steps 'click' for her students.

Crafting for a Cause: Zero Waste Leather Earrings - Class in Kittery

In this workshop, students will create lightweight earrings from tie-dyed and patent leather remnants, paired with sterling silver components. Design eco-friendly gifts while embracing a zero-waste philosophy! As a self-taught artist and maker committed to zero waste values, Francine is passionate about teaching skills that inspire creativity and innovation, encouraging students to explore new materials and ideas beyond leather in their crafting journeys. Students can choose how many pairs of earrings they want to make. Max 10 students.

Do you enjoy ordering crème brulée at restaurants because you don't think you can make it at home? Have you ever tried flan, its creamy cousin? Chef Mary will demonstrate the two methods for creating these creamy, lovely, delicate, and sophisticated sweets so you can make them at home. These simple yet delectable snacks will leave a lasting impact on your loved ones! This is a demonstration class, however, students are welcome to either watch or join us in the kitchen. Bring an apron, a couple of small containers for leftovers, and your appetite! Recipes provided.
Mary Bailey, pastry chef and past owner/chef of Thyme and Honey Bakery in Biddeford, is passionate about baking bread and teaching people how to incorporate homemade bread into their daily lives.
