Introduction to Pilates Mat - Summer

Learn basic pilates mat exercises designed to strengthen and lengthen the body in a safe and efficient way. Pilates is a wonderful way to strengthen your entire body and increase flexibility, mobility, balance, and coordination. No experience is necessary, and exercises can be modified to suit everyone's personal needs. Pilates is commonly used as a form of rehabilitation and is a great way to decrease pain!
Bring a yoga mat and wear something comfortable to move in.
Morgan Sanborn is a member of City Ballet of Boston and freelance artist with extensive background training and performing in multiple styles of dance and 25+ years of teaching experience. She is currently an American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum® Fellowship Instructor, certified in Progressing Ballet Technique, Pilates Academy International Mat, and working toward completing a comprehensive Pilates Apparatus Certification.
Maine Driving Dynamics - Summer

This driver improvement course is designed to improve your defensive driving awareness and includes discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine's highways. Our goal is to save lives, prevent injuries, and reduce vehicle-related crashes. Class meets two days, Tuesday and Thursday.
Date of birth and driver's license information required to complete enrollment.

Discover how relaxation and mindful practices can transform your eye health and vision in this comprehensive class that empowers you to address the root causes of eye strain, fatigue, and vision challenges while cultivating healthier habits. We begin with relaxation techiniques to release tension in the eyes and mind. Through guided practices and exercises, you'll create a foundation of calm and clarity that supports long-term eye health. From there we explore techniques to improve depth perception, color vision, and visual acuity while discovering strategies to reduce dependency on strong prescription lenses. Designed for all ages and all levels of vision whether you're looking to reduce eye strain, improve clarity, or simply care for your eyes more effectively.

Foundations in Genealogy Research
with Craig Siulinski, Merrymeeting Community & Adult Education

This course covers basic genealogy concepts for researching and documenting one's ancestors. What is a genealogy brick wall and how do you break it? This course will offer key ideas on solving even the toughest research barriers. Topics include: general ideas to get started, where and how to find key genealogy records, paper and digital organization strategies, using online databases and resources, where to go in the community to research family history. One class meeting may include a field trip to a research site.

No prior writing experience is necessary—just a love of family and a desire to share their stories.

Your dog must have a non-chain leash, a well-fitting collar and current rabies shots.

Beginner Adult Ballet - Summer

Add movement to your weekly routine, learn something new, or even refresh skills from your past! Develop musicality along with a basic knowledge of ballet steps, including proper alignment along with the fundamentals of ballet technique. Each class will consist of barre and center work, along with exercises traveling across the floor. Students will also learn a brief history of ballet along with the historical context of steps and styles of classical ballet.
Bring ballet flat shoes and wear something comfortable to move in.
