Divination Salon Series: Runes

There’s more to the art of divination than just Tarot cards and crystal balls. Learn something new in this Divination Salon Series and try your hand at some other unique forms of divination in this series of a la carte salons. Runes are divination by ancient Norse letters. The runic alphabet was used to record events on ancient monuments and markers in Scandinavia, but they also had a poetic and magical function. Learn the basic meanings of the runes and how to cast them to answer questions and receive guidance.
Gentle Beginner Hatha Yoga - 3 Week

Join us for a class in Hatha Yoga led by certified instructor, Nancy Cotty from Peace Within Yoga. Yoga is a great way to relax and improve your health and well being. The focus will be on stretching and breathing while building our strength and finding peace. All levels are welcome. Drop-ins are welcome and new students can join anytime. All equipment will be provided for you. Information learned through yoga classes and workshops should not be considered a substitute for medical advice.
Women's Only Defensive Pistol Fundamentals 5.27.25

Over two weeks, in a safe environment, you will learn the mindset and skills to protect yourself and others both with and without a firearm. You will learn or review the basics of handling a firearm and then about self defense. Learn the difference between accurate target shooting and defensive shooting. Practice will be inside the classroom using SIRT pistols (laser only shooting pistols) but you will be seriously challenged. Holsters and special clothing will be used. A $35 textbook is included. No firearms are to be brought to class. This course meets Concealed Carry Permit application requirements. A semi-private two-hour range lesson is arranged with the instructor at a separate cost and time.

This class will begin with an overview of basic estate planning, including wills, powers of attorney, and health care directives. You will then explore how revocable trusts can help avoid probate and protect your privacy, and how irrevocable trusts can safeguard your assets from nursing home or MaineCare (Medicaid) liens. The discussion will also cover strategies to protect assets from life events such as business failure or the divorce of adult children. Kathryn Bedell, a lawyer based in York, Maine, will lead the class. With 31 years of experience, Kathryn specializes in estate planning, asset preservation, and probate matters.

Maine Driving Dynamics

This driver improvement course is designed to improve your defensive driving awareness and includes discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine's highways.
