Applying for Federal jobs is different than applying for jobs in almost any other business or industry. Join representatives from Acadia National Park for a 2-hour workshop to learn about employment opportunities at Acadia, how to write a Federal Resume, and the application process.
Acadia National Park hires more than 100 seasonal and many permanent employees each year into jobs that have great potential for developing into exciting careers. Careers in maintenance, fee collection, education, interpretation, resource management, law enforcement, and more are available. This is a hybrid course. Our instructors can assist you in reaching your potential with digital literacy so you can confidently apply, interview and demonstrate your skills through experience and certifications, including Northstar, IC3 and other certificate programs. You start with a free and confidential interview and assessment, and then work at your own pace to improve your skills and confidence.

Communication for the Early Childhood Professional
with Emily Nash, Ellsworth Adult and Community Education
Are you interested in feeling more confident in communicating with others and on a team? Teamwork and communication in the 21st century are skills that direct service employers want their employees to have.
This 8-week, in-person course is designed to introduce the components of the skills of listening actively, strengthening relationships and focusing on solutions through communication, and to provide an opportunity to practice and demonstrate these skills. There will be lots of listening, responding, teamwork, and talking about problems and solutions. This course is a component of the Early Childhood Education Micro-credential, but anyone can benefit! This is an in-person class. No class on 02/19/25; makeup class, if needed, 04/09/25.

Emily Nash brings many years of experience teaching adult education and has strong skills in designing curriculum to meet the real needs of students. She’s respectful and sensitive to the needs of adult learners and is always a good listening ear. She loves to read, and between stints as an adult education teacher, she is a seasonal professional landscaper. Emily is a student advisor, and teaches English, HiSET prep and Multilingual Learners.

Ready for a career change but don’t know where to start? This one-hour workshop will point you in the right direction. Our professional staff will cover what to consider when choosing a career and the resources available to help you succeed.
WorkReady Credential (Feb/Daytime)
with EACEC Team, Ellsworth Adult and Community Education
Employers tell us they need employees who are skilled, can read well and express themselves, use computers and solve problems. They also tell us they need employees who can come to work regularly and be on time, work as part of a team, and manage conflict.
The WorkReady credential addresses the soft skills need to be successful in the workplace and is designed for people who have difficulty getting or keeping a job. Those eligible and successfully completng the course will earn a recognized credential. This is a hybrid course with some in-person and some online assignments.
