Finished pieces will be dried and fired after the workshop ends, and be made available for pickup approximately 2 weeks after the workshop unless otherwise specified. During this two-day workshop we will be firing a wood-fired barrel Sagger Kiln multiple times, a technique of firing pottery that is similar to ancient pit-fired pottery, with some colorful flair to it. I will also demonstrate the traditional Horsehair Raku technique. Each participant will be provided one premade piece to decorate and fire. You may also bring your bisque-fired pieces to fire, as well as additional pre-made pieces will be available for purchase. All fired pieces will be completed and ready to take home at the end of each day. If time allows, there will be a throwing demonstration each day while we wait for the kilns to finish firing.
