Wok & Cleaver Bootcamp

Participants will learn how to season, care for, and use a Chinese wok and cleaver. Each student will take home a specially selected kit with a seasoned wok, wok spatula, sharpened cleaver, honing steel, and a cutting board. Those in the know bring containers just in case! The Wok is the most versatile pan in the world. Join Chris Toy, author of the award winning The Complete Wok Cookbook and learn all about its 3000 year old history. Materials kits included! *However, since kits are ordered ahead of time, there is a $100.00 non-refundable fee for cancellations to cover the cost of the kits. If you cancel, your kit will be sent to the adult ed office for pick-up.
Coffee Filter Quilt

This beginner friendly, fun quilt uses coffee filters as your pattern. The background squares can be the same color or scrappy. There are lots of possibilities to put it together. Decorative stitches on your machine are a plus. We'll be making a queen size quilt which requires 3 yards of the background fabric and 3 yards of fabric for the circles.

LINE HANDLING, NO JUST KNOTS

This 4-hour course is designed to give Boaters a working knowledge and understanding of lines and line handling techniques. It will include a discussion of the various types of lines, and related safety concerns, as well as how to tie the essential knots used every day on the water. A hands-on approach will be used to demonstrate and practice each knot. This course will also cover Docking and Anchoring equipment and procedures with an emphasis on how it all works. CRANE ESTATE DAY TRIP IPSWICH, MASSACHUSETTS

Crane Estate in Ipswich Massachusetts was built by Richard Crane Junior in 1928 as a summer residence. It is a 59 room mansion, with incredible views of the ocean. It was designed by the famous architect from Chicago David Adler. Richard Crane was in the plumbing and manufacturing business. This trip leaves the Wells High School at 8:30 AM we will tour the mansion and grounds and stop for lunch and return to the Wells High School around 3 PM. The cost of the trip includes entry to the mansion and lunch at $79 per person, the trip is limited to 8 people. GUIDE: Lynne Longworth
