Join instructor Cynthia Plaisted in this 5-week beginner wheel throwing class where she will show you the fundamentals of creating on the pottery wheel. From centering your clay, to learning how to throw simple forms, this class is a great way for you to step into the fun world of pottery wheel work. No pottery experience is needed, just a willingness to get your hands dirty and resist the urge to dramatically recreate that scene from Ghost. Your instructor will be bilingual (Spanish/English), with over a decade of experience instructing adult learners at hospitals, VAs, colleges and universities, restaurants and hotels, and more. Upon completion of this course participants will receive a certificate of completion. *This certification program runs concurrently with the food manager class. Students may opt to take the food manager exam during the last night, on 4/29 if they desire.
