Memoir Writing

Have you desired to write your memoir but don’t know how to get started? Have you started but feel stuck? If you need direction and guidance for your writing this course is for you! Instruction will focus on the craft of writing (setting a scene, dialogue, voice, showing vs. telling, character development, etc.) along with feedback on your writing. Memoir writing is a discovery process in which you weave life experiences into a coherent pattern. Come and enjoy the exciting process of writing in an informal, friendly, atmosphere with an instructor with decades of teaching experience and the author of two memoirs.

Meditation and Stress Management

Have you wondered why people meditate or how to counter your stress patterns more effectively? This class will assist you in establishing a meditation and mindfulness practice and introduce you to restorative Qigong movements that help reduce stress and anxiety. The class is taught in an informal, personalized manner by a certified stress management instructor with over twenty years of meditation experience. Please bring along a cushion or small blanket.

Intermediate Zentangle and Collaborative Drawing

This is a 3-part Hands-on workshop for people with a basic understanding of the Zentangle drawing technique. This class will build upon the basics and teach intermediate patterns and projects. As a bonus, during the final class we will work on a collaborative piece and each participant will receive a copy to see how the synergy of collaboration is sometimes greater than the sum of its individual parts.

Egg Class

This class will introduce most of the ways to create egg dishes. Hard boiled, soft boiled, over easy, over hard, scrambled, egg salad, omelets and frittatas. There will be a cooking demonstration for each style of egg dish plus a chance to sample the egg dishes. Please bring a small Tupperware container to take home leftovers. You will also receive a egg cookbook to use at home. Grocery fee of $10. due to instructor at time of class.

Retirement doesn't mean escaping taxes–in fact, it's one of the top challenges you'll face as you plan for the future, and understanding them is essential to preserving your income throughout your retirement. In this workshop, we will uncover critical tax issues that can erode your retirement savings and discuss practical strategies to protect your wealth. Understanding how taxes will impact your income is essential to preserving your money throughout your retirement. You'll learn about Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs), how to calculate them, and how they impact your taxes. Also, how Social Security, pensions, dividends, and interest affect your taxes. We'll even cover strategies such as Roth IRA conversions, tax loss harvesting, and how a step-up in tax basis and Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) can work to your advantage. By the end, you'll have knowledge and actionable strategies to consider that may help preserve your assets, maximize tax efficiency, and make your retirement dollars last. Please bring a notebook/pen and a calculator.

Instructor: Anthony Corsino, owner of Zen Financial Planning, LLC in Andover, MA, holds a BS from Bentley, a Certificate in Financial Planning from BU, and other designations and certificates from The American College of Financial Services, The College for Financial Planning, and Villanova. He teaches financial planners nationwide in multiple university programs and serves as a subject matter expert at BU, Regis College, and through Greene Consulting, which partners with several universities, including UNH and James Madison

Come learn how to decorate sugar cookies with me! Because of the demand and popularity of the decorated sugar cookies I have decided to teach a beginners class on how to decorate. I will provide 6 cookies and royal icing for decorating. Each month will have a different theme that I have preplanned. (September-fall, October- Halloween, November-Thanksgiving, December- Christmas) This is a beginners class so everyone is welcome! Check out my website at bakedbycam.com 

Instructor: Casey Marsh - Casey fell in love with baking years ago while baking annual Christmas cookies with her mother and grandmother.  She has always been a creative and artistic person (who also  LOVES to feed people) so it only made sense that she start a business doing just that! She is a fully licensed home baker. She completed the baking and pastry associates program at York County Community College, but the majority of her skills are self taught.
