We will explore the decorative sewing patterns of the Japanese Stab Binding, while learning a bit about the eastern traditions of book binding. Hammers and awls are used to create this book. This class is designed for bokeh enthusiasts, featuring soft, distant lights that invoke a dreamy ambiance. Whether on a sunny beach or a night highway, we will explore techniques to replicate this stunning effect using lots of blending and blurring. This class is perfect for beginners as well as advanced painters. Canvas and paints are supplied.

Have clothes that need mending? Come learn sashiko, the Japanese art of visible mending where we will patch our garments with a purposefully visible stitch to strengthen and beautify them all at once. Students will each receive needles, thread, a patch, and a take-home guide. Please bring a ruler, scissors, sewing pins, and your garment of choice (denim preferred). A $25 materials fee, payable to the instructor, must be paid the first night of class.

Join Catherine for this 1 night class to learn new ways to incorporate mixed media techniques in your work. Create depth, texture and interest with gouache, fluid acrylic, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, dual tipped markers and posca pens (and more). Class will start with a refresher on color and techniques covered in previous levels and then transition to discuss new ways to think about layers while introducing various mixed media supplies. We will spend the rest of class playing with a variety of materials to incorporate new and old techniques to complete a fun and uplifting illustration. WHO IS A MEDIAL TRANSCRIPTIONIST?

As a Medical Transcriptionist, you are responsible for receiving verbal information and typing that information into a word processing program, such as Microsoft Word or Word Perfect.  This information must be transcribed accurately, using the format specified by the provider (SOAP notes, discharge summaries, and other report forms).

Basic computer knowledge is a must, as are basic typing skills and knowledge of commonly used word processing programs. Most doctors or transcription companies ask for a minimum of 60 WPM. Also, many companies now use the Internet, which gives you the opportunity to work out of your home without having to drop off and pick up tapes.

Medical transcription is a desired field for most people trying to work at home. Strong typing, computer, and English grammar skills are essential. Medical terminology, formats, rules and regulations, jobs, calculation of pay, confidentiality, and tricks of the trade, all equipment, reference books, and course books are provided with the course fee. Classes are online for 16 weeks with a completion of 16 weeks to 6- month options.

This is a State Certified Program, and you will receive a Certificate of Completion and Letter of Recommendation upon graduation, resumes and how to obtain a job are covered in this program. Program includes medical terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, and transcription. $3200, includes everything for the course and the field.

Everything from preparing medications to answering phones, receiving and verifying prescriptions, counting tablets, taking requests for refilling of medications, and much more.  You are an assistant to the pharmacist.
