Work one-on-one with a Pharmacy Technician Trainer and entirely online with support from a Pharmacy Technician and Trainer.  The Pharmacy Technician is one of the fastest growing jobs in health care today.  In this course, you will learn everything from the role of the technician in the pharmacy setting, to the basic sciences at the core of pharmacy practice, to preparing for the PTCB exam.  You will learn complete drug information that includes proper name, spelling and pronunciation, drug class, generic and trade name, route of administration, dosage, and more of hundreds of drugs.  You will be able to identify pills on sight with pill photos, gain a better understanding of how certain drugs work within the body with concise review of relevant anatomy and physiology, and stay up to date with cutting-edge pharmacy practice with the latest information on new drugs, regulations, HIPAA guidelines and safety procedures.  You will be ready to pass your PTCB nationals certification which is includes in the cost.  Cost of certificate is $1850 which includes all materials.  Payment plans are available.

This course is designed to prepare the entry-level phlebotomist or those individuals seeking a medical career pathway with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to perform in a medical laboratory environment. The phlebotomy student gains confidence and professionalism in the art of obtaining blood samples for laboratory analysis through repeated hands-on practice and instructor feedback. Students are provided instruction in the areas of communication, medical terminology, proper specimen collection, basic anatomy & physiology, as well as complications and variables surrounding venipuncture. Upon completion of the course students will receive 3 credits through UMPI.

Are you a prospective teacher who needs to pass the Praxis Core Exam? Have you already attempted the Praxis Core and not been successful? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then this course is for you! You'll develop all the skills you need for the test as we review and prepare for everything it includes. You'll get familiar with the different types of questions that appear on the reading and writing tests. You'll master the many areas of math that you'll be tested on: number operations, negative numbers, exponents, square roots, order of operations, decimals, fractions, percentages, algebra, geometry, systems of measurement, and probability and statistics. To prepare for the two essays, we'll discuss what constitutes high scoring essays. We'll also go through the process of writing each essay in the amount of time allotted. You'll learn useful test-taking strategies and get plenty of practice questions that are similar to what you'll find on the exam. You'll also have the opportunity to take a full-length practice test in each subject area. Using clear explanations, numerous examples, graphics, animation, and videos, this course will not only prepare you for the Praxis Core, but do so in a way that's fun and interesting. After completing this course, you'll be totally ready to pass the Praxis Core Exam!

TechHIRE is a program designed to recruit, assess, train and place young adults into Maine's in-demand IT industry in positions like computer support specialist, software, and health informatics.  

Completed training will result in credentials recognized by the IT industry.  This grant funded program provides a host of services to train young adults (between the ages of 17 and 29) as well as career changes who are looking to transition into IT roles at little to no-cost to the student!  Eligibility requirements do apply.
