CONSTRUCTION 101 WORKFORCE TRAINING INFORMATIONAL SESSION
Augusta Adult and Community Education is excited to announce a Construction 1010 Training Program. This program was developed in partnership with Western Maine Community Action Program, Augusta Adult Education, the Association of General Contractors of Maine, and various local employers, have developed the Construction 101 training program.
Students will learn skills through the National Home Builders Association training program, earn certifications in OSHA 10, Rigging/Signaling, FirstAid/CPR, and learn Construction Math, Blueprint Reading, Hand/Power Tools use, and more. Students will also learn WorkReady skills such as communications, problem solving, workplace ethics, and more.
This training is complete in about 12 Weeks – commencing February 2020. Interviews will be held February 3, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. and the WorkReady portion of the training will start on Monday, February 24, 2020 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Candidates must register online and set up an appointment for CASAS and ONET assessments. You may set up your appointment by calling 626-2470. This training is offered at no cost to eligible participants/low cost to others.

This course is designed for those who have had no previous welding experience. Each class will include approximately 45 minutes of theory and safety training and 2 hours of hands-on experience. The principles of arc and oxy-fuel welding will be discussed.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

APPLICATION DEADLINE is January 15, 2020 FOR CNA COURSE starting February 3, 2020.
This 180-hour course fulfills DHHS and DLRS requirements to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Maine, including 90 hours of classroom instruction, 20 hours of skills lab instruction, and 70 hours of clinical training at an approved healthcare facility (typically done on selected Friday nights and all day Saturday). Upon successful completion of the course, students will take the state exam administered at UTC. Cost includes BLS/CPR Certifications, textbook, background check, state exam fee & liability insurance while in training.
Health Career Training Courses have specific requirements and documentation that is required for acceptance. All applicants are required to have a background check.

MCST Adult Education is an official Certiport® Exam Test Center, proctoring exams for individuals with current and relevant digital skills to obtain credentials for the competitive global workforce. Certification exams include the official Microsoft Office program, the Microsoft Technology Associate program, the Adobe® Certified Associate program, the Adobe® Certified Expert program, the Autodesk® Certified User program, the Intuit® QuickBooks Certified User program and the IC3 Digital Literacy Certification. The proctor fee must be paid at the time of testing here; the fee is based on the length of the exam. Please call 596-7752 option 3 with questions and to schedule a testing appointment.
