Beginner Drone Flying

(sUAS—small Unmanned Aircraft Systems) If you are ready to explore this exploding career field, now is the time! This 23-hour course is designed for anyone using or looking to use drones. We cover operation of various models, hands-on flight practice, uses and applications across industries, FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) regulations, operational risks, insurance, career opportunities and much more. If you are in, or thinking about, real estate, construction, highways, agriculture, insurance, public safety, photography, media, inspection, etc. or want to start a business, learn how your industry can be transformed in new, cost-effective ways. We discuss how Maine citizens are using these unmanned aircraft in their businesses and how you can employ drones in your business or start a new one. Prerequisites: Ability to read and write the English language to at least the eighth-grade level, and comfortable using a computer and internet browser.
NOTE: Class times include a working lunch. Please come prepared with a bagged lunch, snacks and drinks. Microwave and fridge are available for use.

BHP: Behavioral Health Professional Certification
with Meegan Pratt, York Adult & Community Education
This NEW blended online and in-person certification course teaches individuals how to provide in-home support to children (4 - 21 years of age) with intellectual/developmental delays, autism, or major mental health diagnosis in their home and community. This class meets the state requirements for certification as a BHP for job placement. High school diploma or equivalency is required to attend this BHP training. CPR/First Aid is needed in conjunction with this course for certification. See CPR dates above. CPR cost is NOT included in the cost of this course.Online portion and CPR must be completed before the Face-to-Face portion of the class. Bloodborne Pathogens Training

The Bloodborne Pathogens Training course teaches participants how to protect themselves and others from exposure to bloodborne pathogens on the job and what to do if an exposure occurs. The course content and activities will prepare participants to make appropriate decisions about preventing bloodborne pathogen disease transmission. The course addresses: What bloodborne pathogens are, how bloodborne pathogens are spread, how to help prevent exposure incidents by following work practice controls, using engineering controls and personal protective equipment (PPE), practicing good personal hygiene and properly cleaning and disinfecting equipment and supplies, and how to recognize, report and follow up on employee exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials.
Build a Collaborative Environment at Work or at Home

Build success for all involved through active listening skills, empathy, increased self-awareness, and effective communication. Learn how to reduce defensiveness and increase positive collaboration.
