200-Hour Yoga Teacher Certificate Program

An in-depth Coaching Yoga, Coaching Life Certification program for those seeking to teach, or to deepen their journey. The Coaching Yoga, Coaching Life Certification is built around finding your voice first – as an inspired teacher or as an inspired yogi, encouraging you to step outside of the “box”. Tuition includes 200 hours of classroom instruction covering these topics: Techniques, training and practice; teaching methodology; anatomy and physiology; yoga philosophy, lifestyle and ethics for yoga teachers; practicum, and instructional materials.
A note for students interested in pursuing certification through Yoga Alliance:
In order to qualify for certification through Yoga Alliance, students are responsible for completion of additional coursework relevant to the area of interest in these subject areas: techniques, training and practice, teaching methodologies, yoga self-exploration; and complete Family Crisis Volunteer Program (taught by Family Crisis Services). These components are not covered by tuition charged for this program.
Please note: The teacher of this program is not affiliated with Yoga Alliance; however, the coursework noted in this program and recommended as additional coursework exceeds Yoga Alliance requirements and may be applied as Continuing Education for yoga teachers wishing to register with Yoga Alliance.

American Heart Association / Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED for Adults, Children and Infants (August)(Summer 2018)

Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives.

140 Classroom Hours w/ a Clinical Externship For students who want to prepare for an exciting, challenging and rewarding career in healthcare. This program trains students to assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical responsibilities of a medical office. Instruction includes preparing patients for examination and treatment, routine laboratory procedures, diagnostic testing, technical aspects of phlebotomy and the cardiac life cycle. Includes hands on labs and a clinical extern- ship opportunity at a local healthcare provider. To be eligible for clinical rotation, students must successfully complete the 140 hour program, submit to a thorough background check, drug screening and meet other requirements. Note: Upon successful completion of this program, students are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national examination.

Looking for a new career? Interested in changing lives of those around you? How about a part-time career or to get paid to work out? This program is designed to teach you everything you need to know to enter the health and fitness field as a group fitness instructor and/or personal trainer. Our trainers are highly recognized in this field, with more than 20 years experience, and will provide you hands-on training to pass the national tests through AFAA. The program is all-inclusive. You may choose to complete both group fitness and personal training, or take one or the other. Lectures are once a week for 10 or 20 weeks. $1,500 or $3,000 for both. All materials included in fee including National Certification Exams.

START A NEW CAREER IN THE MEDICAL FIELD!
A Nursing Assistant is an individual who provides basic care under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse. This course consists of a combination of classes in theory, laboratory, and clinical learning experiences. You will be give the opportunity to acquire Knowledge, Skills, and attitudes necessary to function safely in a clinical setting. Students who successfully complete the course and the State Board Examination will receive a State of Maine Ceritfication for Basic Nursing Assistant. This program consists of 110 hours of classroom and 30 hours of lab instruction, and 80 hours of clinical time. Candidates must present either a high school diploma, or HiSET/GED.
Enrollment is limited to 10. The enrollment process includes a criminal background chec, placement testing, and an application prior to acceptance into the program.
This class runs from August 20th - December 5th on Monday and Wednesday 1:30 - 5 PM - Friday 1-4PM. Clinical hours start after 12/5.
