140 Classroom Hours w/ a Clinical Externship
For students who want to prepare for an exciting, challenging and rewarding career in healthcare. This program trains students to assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical responsibilities of a medical office. Instruction includes preparing patients for examination and treatment, routine laboratory procedures, diagnostic testing, technical aspects of phlebotomy and the cardiac life cycle. Includes hands on labs and a clinical extern- ship opportunity at a local healthcare provider. To be eligible for clinical rotation, students must successfully complete the 140 hour program, submit to a thorough background check, drug screening and meet other requirements. Note: Upon successful completion of this program, students are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national examination.
Course Contact Hours: 140 hours + Clinical Externship
Student Tuition: $2,599 (Textbooks included - Board exam is an additional fee)

Personal Support Specialist
This class 60-hour certification class will start in January and will be held at The Landings in Cape Elizabeth, ME PSS certification is required for direct care workers for certain home care programs and residential care facilities. If you are a PCA crossing over to employment in a residential care facility you must complete the PSS Curriculum. In addition, if you are providing direct service to residents for at least 20 hours a week in a Level IV residential care facility you must complete this training.

Medical Transcription Certificate Winter 2020

Medical transcription is a desired field for most people trying to work at home. Strong typing, computer and English grammar skills are essential. Medical terminology, formats, rules and regulations, jobs, calculation of pay, confidentiality, FTP, tricks of the trade, all equipment, reference books, and course books are provided with the course fee. Classes are once a week for 16-weeks with a completion of 16 weeks to 6 month options. This is a State Certified Program and you will receive a Certificate of Completion and Letter of Recommendation upon graduation. Resumes and how to obtain a job are covered in this program. Course includes medical terminology, Anatomy & Physiology and transcription. Course fee is $2400 which includes everything for the course and the field. Payment plans are available.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Course -New start date

This course prepares ambulance and rescue personnel, police officers, and fire fighters for administering out-of-hospital emergency medical care. The laboratory component provides practice in patient assessment, airway management, CPR, automatic external defibrillation, oxygen delivery, dressings and hemorrhage control, splinting, spinal immobilization, childbirth, lifting and moving patients, and extrication.
This course includes clinical experience in a hospital emergency department and/or ambulance service. Students who successfully complete this course are eligible to sit for the State EMT-Basic Licensure Exams. 5.5 credit hours, 117 contact hours, 16 clinical hours.

Spanish for Medical Professionals
