Required class for students enrolled in FCAE. This class is designed to provide students with the computer knowledge and skills necessary for success in their classes at FCAE and beyond. Topics include, but are not limited to, personal and public computer use, internet safety, password creation/management, Gmail, Google Drive: docs, sheets and slides, online remote learning, media bias, and social media.

Behavior Health Professional Certification Training
with Woodfords Family Services, RSU 25 Adult and Community Education
Our community is looking for individuals who want to make a difference in a child's life. Children's Behavioral Health Services are vital to Maine's children with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health Disorders and their families. And the need in our area is great! As an integral part of the child's treatment team, a Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) has the opportunity to make an immediate impact while helping a child grow and develop to their full potential. We are excited to connect our community with Woodfords Family Service for this wonderful ONLINE training program. The online training will equip you to successfully help children who are currently on a wait list for services. The training will prepare you for employment through local social services agencies. the program can be started at any time and finished at your own pace. You will complete 12 online modules then two 4-hour live sessions. Once the modules are completed, you will receive free online blood borne pathogen training and virtual First Aid & CPR training if you do not already possess those certifications. The entire training requirements will take about 45 hours. Any individual who will be 18 years of age or older upon completion of the course may register and have your high school diploma. CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant

A prospective CNA must complete an approved training program. Maine's approved CNA programs are 180 hours, well above the national minimum. They include 90 hours of theory, 20 hours of lab work, and 70 hours of supervised practice.
Students must attend all sessions. CNA programs follow a state curriculum.
The individual can expect a criminal history check at the student level. Criminal background checks are carried out by the Maine State Bureau of Identification. The individual must provide all names he or she has had as an adult.
After training, the prospective CNA must pass the Maine CNA competency test. The competency test includes two components: knowledge and skills. The knowledge test may be oral or written. The skills evaluation requires the candidate to carry out nursing assistant duties.

"This class is online, except for the clinical hours which are scheduled for Saturday, 11/7, 8:30-5:30 at the Sullivan Learning Center, Sullivan, ME.
This is a 50-hour training program necessary for certification as a Personal Support Specialist (PSS). Upon completion of the program, you will be able to work in health care or human services to provide hands-on assistance with daily living for older adults and people with disabilities. PSS's assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs), including health maintenance activities, according to an authorized plan of care.
You will need a computer with a camera, microphone and high-speed internet and a willingness to participate in an online video conference class on Zoom.

Prerequisites for this course include: a completed application, an intake meeting with the student advisor, documentation of medical immunization history, and completion of required assessments at our office. Scholarships and other funding opportunities are available."
There may be an asychronous options for the classes, but not the clinical.

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

The United Technologies Center Adult Education Clinical Medical Assistant Course will be taught utilizing a blended classroom approach (face to face and distance learning). The course prepares students to become competent entry level Medical Assistants. Subjects covered medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, cardiac monitoring/procedures, phlebotomy, medical law/ethics, and medical office administration/procedures. The course is designed to develop the critical skills needed to perform clinical, laboratory and administrative duties in physician’s offices, hospitals, urgent care facilities and other healthcare agencies. Successful students will participate in the clinical externship provided at one of the many St. Joseph’s Healthcare sites. Upon completion of the classroom and clinical externship, students will be eligible to take the National Certification Exam.
Tuesday & Thursday 4 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Course including clinical approximately 38 weeks.
$3000 CCMA course – payment plan offered.
