WHAT IS A MEDICAL CODER?

As a Medical Biller/Coder you are responsible for reviewing the documentation the physicians have provided and assigning the correct diagnosis and procedure codes, entering the necessary information into the patient’s account and submitting the claims to the Insurance Companies.  You are then responsible for tracking and receiving payment from the Insurance Companies and billing the patient when necessary.  You will also be responsible for reviewing any denials and researching to make sure that the claim was submitted correctly the first time.  If any necessary changes can be made, you are responsible for making the changes and following up with the Insurance Companies.

You will practice the basic, practical language skills needed to effectively communicate with your Spanish-speaking patients and their families. Who is a Dental Assistant?

The purpose of this course is to gain background knowledge and vocabulary for an entry level position in the clinical or administrative dental setting. Learning media provide specific insight into preclinical and clinical areas of dental assisting, reviewing chapter content and the application of content. Chapters include professional and legal aspects of dental assisting, anatomy and physiology, dental anatomy, infection control and hazardous materials, dental treatment, patient care, dental imaging, preventative dentistry, restorative dentistry, and specialized dentistry. Students will be given the building blocks for DANB RHS content certifications, and access to materials to prepare for this exam. Resume writing (including updated personal resume) and professional development are required for graduation. During each week of our 10-week program we assist the student to build the confidence, skills, and knowledge to assist the dentist and be a valuable member of the dental healthcare team. An all-inclusive 16-week program that includes in-person skills labs and live via Zoom class meetings that prepare you to pass the National Certification. 

Upon completion of the program, you will sit for your CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) national certification exam through NHA.  $3,500 includes national certification, 6 practice exams, online study guide materials, books, resume assistance, and all other associated fees.  Externships may be available in your area.  Payment plans are available.

WHO IS A MEDIAL TRANSCRIPTIONIST?

As a Medical Transcriptionist, you are responsible for receiving verbal information and typing that information into a word processing program, such as Microsoft Word or Word Perfect.  This information must be transcribed accurately, using the format specified by the provider (SOAP notes, discharge summaries, and other report forms).

Basic computer knowledge is a must, as are basic typing skills and knowledge of commonly used word processing programs. Most doctors or transcription companies ask for a minimum of 60 WPM. Also, many companies now use the Internet, which gives you the opportunity to work out of your home without having to drop off and pick up tapes.

Medical transcription is a desired field for most people trying to work at home. Strong typing, computer, and English grammar skills are essential. Medical terminology, formats, rules and regulations, jobs, calculation of pay, confidentiality, and tricks of the trade, all equipment, reference books, and course books are provided with the course fee. Classes are online for 16 weeks with a completion of 16 weeks to 6- month options.

This is a State Certified Program, and you will receive a Certificate of Completion and Letter of Recommendation upon graduation, resumes and how to obtain a job are covered in this program. Program includes medical terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, and transcription. $3200, includes everything for the course and the field.

WHO IS A PHARMACY TECHNICIAN?

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be helping the Licensed Pharmacist with all the necessary day-to-day services that the Pharmacy provides. Everything from preparing medications to answering phones, receiving and verifying prescriptions, counting tablets, taking requests for refilling of medications, and much more.  You are an assistant to the pharmacist.
