CDL Class B: Fall 2020 Dates Just Added!

Commercial Driving License (CDL) Class B: Dump Truck or Bus

This class prepares you to meet the Maine DMV Class B driving requirements. The course consists of 42 hrs of classroom instruction to prepare you for the state CDL written and skills exam and 30 hours of one-on-one driving instruction to prepare you for the state road test.

Class fee covers:  class and driving fees, permit fee made payable to Secretary of State, one endorsement (Bus, Tank, or Hazmat), physical examination by certified doctor, one state test (including one use of the vehicle for testing purposes). Additional endorsements of Bus, Tank and Hazmat are $25 each.

Classes meet on the following dates and times:

Saturdays: September 12 & 26, October 24, November 7, 2020  

Time: 8 am-2:30 pm  

Thursdays: September 17 & 24, October 1,15, 22, & 29, 2020  

Time: 5:45 pm-9 pm

Driving time arranged individually.

Location: PDC, 75 North Road, Readfield

Registration: $2,500

 

Payment plan available: $250 deposit plus 8 payments of $281.25, paid weekly.

No prerequisites required.  A review of common machine practices, with a strong emphasis on safety and guided instruction are part of this class. We’ll introduce lathes, milling machines, grinding, precision measurement, inspections, safety and many general machine shop processes. Projects will be experience-level appropriate. Depending on additional projects, there may be a fee for materials used.  

Due to the nature of this class, there are only 10 spots available, and there is a minimum of 5 students registered to run the class.

Registered Maine Guide Training

This training prepares you for all 3 licenses: Recreation, Fishing & Hunting (with emphasis on Map & Compass), Search & Rescue and Canoeing & Canoe Rescue. You will be 100% ready to take one of Maine’s toughest outdoor tests. A manual with practice tests will be provided on the first day of class. Anyone pursuing their Maine Guide License will also need First Aid, which is available for students on a date TBD. An enrollment form will be sent with the class confirmation.

20 week, in-depth, State-Certified Certificate program in medical coding. This program is designed to teach all aspects of medical coding and provide you the skills you need to become nationally certified and get into the job market as a Certified Coder.  This certificate program is taught by a Certified Medical Coder and includes Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, CPC exam, AAPC membership, 3 practice CPC tests and all books.  Basic computer skills are required.  Payment plans available.  Program cost:  $3500 Please email AdultEd@sanford.org for specific information and registration for this class.

10 Week Certificate program in Dental Assisting for one of the most high-demand careers.  This program is designed to teach all aspects of dental assisting and provide you the skills you need to work in this field and pass a national certification exam.  This program is taught by a Dentist and includes an opportunity for internships.  The price of the course, $2400, includes all books, exam preparation materials and fees for the DANB RHS certificate program.  Upon passing the DANB RHS, you will receive a certificate of knowledge on competency for that component from DANB.
