Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

APPLICATION DEADLINE is January 15, 2020 FOR CNA COURSE starting February 3, 2020.
This 180-hour course fulfills DHHS and DLRS requirements to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Maine, including 90 hours of classroom instruction, 20 hours of skills lab instruction, and 70 hours of clinical training at an approved healthcare facility (typically done on selected Friday nights and all day Saturday). Upon successful completion of the course, students will take the state exam administered at UTC. Cost includes BLS/CPR Certifications, textbook, background check, state exam fee & liability insurance while in training.
Health Career Training Courses have specific requirements and documentation that is required for acceptance. All applicants are required to have a background check.

Certiport Exam Testing

MCST Adult Education is an official Certiport® Exam Test Center, proctoring exams for individuals with current and relevant digital skills to obtain credentials for the competitive global workforce. Certification exams include the official Microsoft Office program, the Microsoft Technology Associate program, the Adobe® Certified Associate program, the Adobe® Certified Expert program, the Autodesk® Certified User program, the Intuit® QuickBooks Certified User program and the IC3 Digital Literacy Certification. The proctor fee must be paid at the time of testing here; the fee is based on the length of the exam. Please call 596-7752 option 3 with questions and to schedule a testing appointment.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Ellsworth Adult Education offers a Certified Nursing Assistant course meeting the State requirement of 180 hours (110 hours of classroom/lab and 70 hours of clinical experience) and, if needed, six hours of CPR instruction. Clinicals are held at area healthcare facilities. Upon successful completion of this course, passing the State CNA exam and successful acceptance to the State Registry, you will be a state-certified CNA. Attendance at a CNA Information Session is recommended as part of the application process. No class 02/17/20, 04/20/20 or 05/25/20.
Computer Essentials - Intro - Feb..

Efficient use of technology in a work setting requires basic knowledge in several areas: the PC operating system, software applications (Microsoft Office), and communicating professionally. In this class, you will learn about the Windows operating system and its tools, and how to manage software, files, and folders. We will explore basic word processing using MS Word 2016, learn about spreadsheets with Excel 2016, and examine common features of databases. Lastly, we will touch on basic customer service techniques common in various work settings. This hands-on course is for beginning computer users in the workforce.

Students enrolled in this Certificate program complete 200 hours of classroom, laboratory, and clinical experience, which meet all state licensing requirements. Upon successful completion of the course and passage of the State Competency Exam, the student will be eligible to enter the healthcare field as a Certified Nursing Assistant under the direction of a licensed nurse. Call 596-7752 opt.3 for an application. Class size is limited so applying early is advised. This is a daytime course on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
