You’ve taken a welding class…now it’s time to tackle that home project! Join us for “rent-a-booth” Saturday and put those skills into practice—bring your own project and materials. Projects will be “carry in, carry out.” All projects and additional materials must be vetted at least one week in advance through the instructor(s).

Previous welding instruction and experience is required. Prepare to pay extra for materials the instructor anticipates you'll need.

Payment plan available: $40 deposit plus 3 payments of $26.66, paid every four weeks.

Welding - TIG

Calendar Nov 5, 2019 at 4:30 pm, runs for 7 weeks

This 36 hour (GTAW) course is for students with some training in STICK or MIG.  TIG is most commonly usedto weld thin sections of stainless steel and light metals. It is the most difficult of all types of welding but can give you clean, strong, x-ray quality welds when mastered. Students will learn proper techniques for flat fillet welding with carbon steel using the GTAW process. Safety is covered in the first two sessions; math tutorial available.

Students must complete an easy application form, and provide their own protective eye wear, steel-toed footwear and welding gloves.

Payment plan available: $100 deposit plus 5 payments of $51.00, paid every two weeks.

WELDING BASICS

This course is designed for those who have had no previous welding experience. Each class will include approximately 45 minutes of theory and safety training and 2 hours of hands-on experience. The principles of arc and oxy-fuel welding will be discussed.

Calendar Sep 18, 2019 at 5 pm, runs for 25 weeks

This course is designed for individuals who wish to enter the welding profession or enter a technical college program and/or test for the National Certification from the National Welding Society. The certificate preparation is aimed for SMAW structural plate and/or FCAW structural plate. This course does not cover pipe welding. This 100 hour experience will serve as a stepping stone to professional welding skills or millwrights and welding technology. There will be a focus on how to choose the right welding rod for the right job, oxy-fuel safety and handling techniques, and OSHA requirements. This course will cover Stick and MIG/Flux Core welding. This course is not for the hobbyist. Limited to 10 students.

Students should wear jeans, long sleeve shirts, steel toe boots and bring welding gloves, and safety glasses to class. It is recommended that students bring a welding helmet (auto darkening).
