The law of torts pertains to injuries against one's person or property. This course provides an overview of torts such as trespass, false imprisonment, defamation, nuisance, assault, battery, negligence and misrepresentation. You will also learn the elements of individual torts, such as intentional torts and negligence, are examined from a black letter law perspective.

Transactional legal professionals negotiate, draft and interpret contracts. This course will teach the provisions included in different types of general contracts, M&A documents and SEC documents. You will also learn drafting standards and work hands-on drafting, interpreting and negotiating various document provisions.

This program will be held once a week for 20 weeks. Upon completion of the program, you will sit for your CPC national certification which is included in tuition. Your title will be a CPC-A, for the first year; CPC-A means you will be considered a certified coder with an Apprentice designation for one year. Once you have worked for a year, you will have your Apprentice title removed and be an official CPC! This program consists of Medical Terminology/Anatomy for ICD-10 and Medical Coding curriculum.

This course is a 6-to-10-week online practicum taken after earning your CPC-A. CPC-A’s get real-world experience coding actual medical charts. This new coding practice course helps to improve coding skills across multiple specialties, allows a new coder to gain coding experience. It is comprised of 3 modules of 200 actual, redacted medical records per module. Upon completion of this program, you will have your Apprentice designation removed immediately- providing you an equivalency of 2 years’ experience in the field in under 30 weeks.

By understanding the impact of body language, leaders can learn how to communicate in a way that builds and sustains positive relationships with employees, clients, and business partners. This course will help women business leaders learn how to read body language cues and use them to exude both strength and warmth. It considers the role and impact of gender stereotypes in nonverbal communication and explains how facial expressions, hand gestures, body movements, and eye contact can be used in various business situations like negotiations. The course also addresses cross-cultural body language and explores the role of body language in virtual communication.

This online certificate program introduces learners to key current management issues for nonprofit organizations. Fundraising, board and volunteer development, budgeting, reading financial statements, leadership, marketing, and setting strategic direction are all addressed, and video commentary on these crucial topics will give you insight into how nonprofit professionals apply key concepts in their own organizations. Each 3 to 5 hour, self-paced course offers an assortment of interactive exercises, videos, selected readings, case studies, and self-assessments that will engage you and help you practice effective decision making in a nonprofit setting. The course will provide a general overview for effective communication at work. Learners will review tips and strategies for communicating with small and large groups, being heard in meetings, projecting confidence, and more—especially as these concepts apply to women. This course also considers communication in the context of public speaking, and discusses the importance of understanding the audience, preparing for a presentation, using visual aids appropriately, and more. Learners will be able to identify criticisms of, and biases toward, women speakers, and the course introduces strategies for how to counteract them.
