AARP Smart Driver

Welcome to the nation's first refresher course specifically designed for drivers aged 50 and older. In this simple format, brush up on your driving abilities and knowledge of traffic regulations. Driver distractions, using safety featues on cars properly, left turns, right-of-way and roundabouts are some of the topcs covered. There are also state-specific rules and regulations in 19 important areas such as construction zones, child safety seats, school buses, cell phone use and more. Help lower accidents and traffic penalties while learning something new. 

Materials fee ($20 for AARP members, $25 for non-members) payable to instructor at class

Balms, Lotions and Creams

Calendar Apr 4, 2024 at 6 pm, runs for 4 weeks

The class focuses on how to create balms, salves, and water-based lotions. We will be utilizing botanical ingredients, natural oils, and butters.  We will learn about the different techniques to craft infused oils into balms and salves.  The teacher will introduce the class to water-based lotions and creams.  We will discuss safety and necessary natural preservatives that have to be used with water-based formulas.

There is a materials fee of $30 to be paid on the first night of class.

CPR

Learn about adult, child and infant CPR and AED use, adult, child and infant choking, and how and when to call emergency services. Course includes use of manikins, video, certified instruction, practical components, and a certificate of completion. Practical time has been increased to ensure you have enough time to gain confidence in your skills. Optional workbook is available for $10 (cash please) from instructor at class.

Crystal Healing Hands On

This is a hands-on class to learn about the uses of crystals, how to use these healing gifts from the earth to heal and balance the body, and for protection, manifesting and grounding. Students will learn about the most commonly used crystals in crystal healing, their properties and uses. Students will also learn about crystal elixirs; elixir safety and practice doing a chakra/aura healing crystal grid on each other and learn a manifesting crystal grid to practice at home. Includes: Class materials and a take home crystal.

Lab fee: $50 for one or $90 for two, to be paid directly to the instructor on the first day of class.  Speak to instructor about payment options.

Please bring a pen and water.

 

Donna Shaw is a National Guild of Hypnotists Certified Hypnotherapist, Certified Past Life Regressionist (facilitator) Licensed HypnoBand® Practitioner, Usui & Kundalini Reiki Master/Teacher. Donna has been teaching Reiki, spiritual-metaphysical and self-hypnosis classes at local Maine Adult Education Centers and her office since 2012.

Instead, Fair Play is about creating a fair and equitable division of domestic labor rooted in your shared values. It's about taking the time to have the conversations that matter to bring your shared vision to life. You'll leave the course with a new vocabulary for talking about domestic life, a strategy for sharing the mental load, and concrete steps for getting started. Participants will receive a downloadable copy of the Fair Play cards, a quickstart Fair Play guide, and more. Sandi Konta is a Maine-based Certified Fair Play Facilitator.

She is a plant lover with a green thumb - known to even sprout plants from produce in her fridge or pantry! The basics of watering, feeding, potting, sunlight and placement will all be covered. Bring your questions!
