What happens if you get a flat? How do you take off your wheel? What if your chain falls off when you’re out on a ride? What should you do if your brakes are rubbing? Don’t be caught walking your bike home! The Local Gear is offering a class to teach you the skills needed to get home safe from common mishaps on a ride and how to address problems with your bike before they happen. Limit 10 people. An online meet and greet to hold space for conversations surrounding your students. Topics surround family unit cohesion. Including subjects like the influence of social media, proactive vs reactive planning, dinner conversation starters, etc.

Color theory helps determine which colors look good together and goes beyond just "eyeing" color combinations. There is a supply fee of $7 payable to the instructor at class.

Reiki is a philosophy and healing method originated in Japan for the purpose of maintaining healthful flow of Chi, bringing together physical, mental and emotional balance.  It is calming, relaxing, and easy to perform on yourself and other beings, including animals and plants. The feeling of this waveform of energy is described in Gendai Reiki Ho as "the energy of love harmony, and healing that resonates with human consciousness or spiritual awareness."

This school of Classical Japanese Reiki is particularly aligned with Nature and the aura of the heart. In this Certification Course, you will be empowered into Reiki (Level One) and learn how to sense and perceive, and utilize it using specific hands on as well as distant methods to reduce stress and pain, speed healing, increase intuition, manifest goals, and stimulate creativity. An original 30-page manual is included.

Class size is limited. Please bring something to drink and your lunch. 

This course includes discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challange drivers on Maine's highways.

Please note that the State of Maine increased the cost of this class and there is no longer a discount for over 65 years of age.

Participants in Pine Tree Education's interactive class will learn to confidently provide care for Adults/Children/Infants who have experienced a sudden illness or injury until Emergency Medical Services arrive and take over care. Following national Emergency Cardiac Care guidelines, revised during the COVID pandemic, students will learn to recognize a heart attack, and each will work on their own manikin to learn CPR and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Students will learn how to recognize stroke, and care for breathing emergencies, such as asthma, and choking. First aid skills include the care for burns, bleeding, and other injuries. Instructor looks for attainment of skill level as each skill is taught without a formal testing situation. Optional written tests are available, at no additional cost, but not required for certification. Nationally Recognized Certificate and Ready Reference Cards included.
