Slow Flow Yoga (4 weeks)

Join us for this combo of Vinyasa and Hatha yoga styles for a slower paced, feel-good flow class. Smooth transitions between postures then holding for several rounds of breath with emphasis on form and alignment, help us with better balance, body awareness and feeling revitalized! Bring: Yoga mat, 2 yoga blocks and strap. (Blocks and straps are available to borrow) Level: Beginner - Intermediate. Movement from floor to standing several times. Modifications are provided.

Families who play together, stay together. Whether you have had martial arts training or are just a beginner, all families are welcome to this fun, stress-free martial arts class! Based on World Tang Soo Do, Jessica Peck-Lindsey will guide participants through gentle therapeutic exercises that lead up to focus work and traditional forms. Learn a new way to move, together! No prior martial arts training is necessary. Classes are designed to meet the experience level of participants from beginner to advanced.

Illustrating a Wild Maine Spring with Watercolor and Ink

This all-levels class explores illustration with pen and ink and watercolor. Students will explore principles of scientific illustration by observing and painting Maine’s spring transformations— from salamanders to ephemeral wildflowers. Students can either buy themselves the required materials - the materials list is linked here - or they can buy pre-made material kits from the Mix, an art store in Brunswick (here is a link to a student-grade kit, and here is a link to an artist-grade kit). This course is for people experiencing tight hips and low back discomfort , as well as active people and athletes.  Tight hips impact knees and low back.  Contributing factors are long periods of sitting which lock hips tight.  We begin with simple stretches and breathwork for deep relaxation and progress as mobility increases.  No experience is necessary, Bring a mat for floorwork.

Balloon Boxing

Balloon Boxing incorporates the elements of slow, flowing movements, while focusing on the spontaneous adaptations to the unpredictable, floating movements of a balloon. With particular focus on breath-work, gentle stretching, no impact, and fun, this is designed for all fitness levels.
