America's Boating Course

The most comprehensive in-person boating course available, America’s Boating Course, gives you the skills you need to enjoy your time on the water and boat with confidence. Our boater safety class meets most states’ certification requirements. Taking a boating class reduces your risk of accidents and injuries, saves you money on boat insurance, and qualifies you for a state boat license or operator certificate in most states. Our in-person boating course includes a comprehensive introduction to boating, covering boat types, boat engines, boat selection, and more. You’ll learn about boating laws and regulations as well as boat registration and licensing. Get in-depth knowledge of boating safety equipment, and learn how to become a safe boater by learning the dos and don’ts of boater safety. Gain practical knowledge of navigation, rules of the road, handling emergencies and mechanical problems on the water, the basics of towing and trailering, important information for hunters, anglers, water sports enthusiasts, and so much more. Four sessions with a NASBLA approved examination. The cost for couples sharing materials is $95. Please call Merrymeeting Adult Education for the couples discount. Tai Chi For Life Part 2

Part 1 is recommened for this class. This gentle program was designed by Dr Paul Lamb MD - family physician, as a “gateway” for mature adults to have the opportu-nity to taste the fruit of Tai Chi, keeping in mind those who have not started their Tai Chi journey. Anyone can learn this programand improve their balance, strength, and health, and enjoy a betterquality of life. Please wear loose and comfortable clothing and flatbottom shoes.

Improv for the Heart

This six week class uses the skills and exercises of Improvisational Theater to develop a deeper sense of connection to self and others through the art of embodied play. Relaxing into the entry point of tuning into our creative selves, we will expand into collaborative performance for each other by sharing our imaginations together. This will include exploring character creation, storytelling and intuitive movement along with just getting to know each other and healing ourselves through shared laughter and emotional release. Elise Voigt is an actor and theater educator with over 20 years of experience and loves sharing her skills and knowledge with adults and children as a journey of self-discovery and self-renewal. No experience necessary! Come out and Play!
Paint Night: Pet Portrait

Join us for a fun and creative wire wrapping class where you’ll learn techniques to create your own beautiful wire-wrapped pieces - no matter your experience level! Whether you’re brand new or looking to sharpen your skills, this class is for you. There will be several projects to select from. Let’s get wrapping and make something magical together! All skill levels are welcome. Please bring round nose jewelry pliers with you if you have them, and you can bring your own stones if you’d like.
A materials fee of $10 per project is due to the instructor at the start of the class. Beth will also have additional jewelry kits available for purchase.
