One Day Clay, Wheel Throwing (Beginner/Intermediate): Session V

In these one-day, three-hour classes, you will have the opportunity to try out the pottery wheel and get a brief introduction to our studio space and community. You will have an accelerated lesson in working with clay and wheel throwing and we will save and fire any pieces you would like to keep. One-day clay classes are perfect if you feel like you want to get a taste of pottery before committing to a full session with us or are just looking for a nice weekend activity with friends or family! All classes are held at the Art and Nature Center at Tannery Brook.

Sebago Lake Kayak Lesson and Historic Tour
with Sebago Trails Paddling, Windham/Raymond Adult Education

Join the Registered Maine Guides at Sebago Trails for an on the water adventure. This two hour course will begin with a safety briefing and lesson covering the fundamentals of recreational kayaking. Using the EZ launching system at Sebago Trails Paddling, the tour will explore the water-carved bends and twists of a meandering stream unveiling local wildlife in a rustic backdrop. Then continue onto Jordan Bay of Sebago Lake as the guides share stories dating back to the settlements of the region. Come for the beautiful lake views and leave with your new favorite hobby! This is a great experience for anyone looking to get outdoors. Perfect for first time kayakers and experienced kayaking enthusiasts. Sebago Trails Paddling will provide: Kayak, Paddle, Lifejacket.

Fix-A-Bike Spring Workshop
with Erik DaSilva, RSU 54/MSAD 54 Adult and Community Education

Join us for a bike maintenance workship for teens and adults. Are you curious about bicycle mechanics, or would you like to maintain your bike better, or get your bike ready for spring? Bring your bike and tool kit, if you have one. A parent or guardian must accompany students 13-16 years. Donations are welcme to the Bicycle Coalition of Maine by cash, or check at class, or via their website at www.bikemaine.org/donate
Walking Tour of Laurel Hill
with Ron Romano, Biddeford Adult Education

Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco was designed in the middle 1800s to encourage visitation. Its inviting pathways, sloping landscapes, and lush plantings (including an incredible display of daffodils each spring) provide a backdrop for a fine variety of gravestone styles, materials, and symbols. Our stroll through this beloved cemetery will take about 90 minutes. Two identical tours will run the same day, at noon and again at 2:00pm. Register early…this tour usually sells out.

Eat Biddeford: A Foodie Walking Tour
with Kristen Bartlett, Old Orchard Beach/Saco Adult Education

Maine's hottest foodie town offers delicious dining experiences at various establishments like Palace Diner, Fish & Whistle, Nibblesford, and Sweetcream Dairy. Tour the town while exploring some of the best spots, learn to order wisely, and explore tips for enhancing your dining experience, all while supporting local and enjoying bite-size samples. Expect to stop at 5-8 eateries, try some samples, and learn about more hotspots that make our local foodie scene thrive!
Tour fee includes a guided tour, bite-size eats and/or drinks at 5-8 stops, and a booklet with a map and information about local eateries!
Note: Dietary restrictions cannot be accommodated, as the restaurants decide which samples they will provide.
Wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing; bring a shopping bag & money for extra purchases.
Registration closes at noon on 5/16; no refunds, credits, or transfers after registration closes or if class runs on scheduled rain date.
Students will be notified, via email, of weather cancellation by 11am the morning of class (in the case of extreme weather–light rain will not cause cancellation). Rain Date 5/31.
