Gentle Beginner Hatha Yoga - 3 Week

Join us for a class in Hatha Yoga led by certified instructor, Nancy Cotty from Peace Within Yoga. Yoga is a great way to relax and improve your health and well being. The focus will be on stretching and breathing while building our strength and finding peace. All levels are welcome. Drop-ins are welcome and new students can join anytime. All equipment will be provided for you. Information learned through yoga classes and workshops should not be considered a substitute for medical advice.

Discovering ASL: Adventures in Sign Language

Step into deaf culture with this opportunity to learn ASL. Start with the basics of ASL communication – numbers and fingerspelling. Move on to common words and phrases, and advance on to higher-level concepts. Enjoy an easy, relaxed atmosphere while you practice ASL and experience the nuances of deaf culture.

E-Z Sweets Night

In this one night class we will learn the basic concepts of candy making. Each student will take home samples of the quick and easy treats we will make. Grab a friend and treat yourself to a sweet night out learning new recipes. These include Quick Butter Toffee Bark, No Bake Coconut Candy, and Last Minute Fudge. Bring covered containers to take home samples. 3-hour workshop; Materials fee of $10 included.

Introduction to Observational Still Life Drawing

Make Your Own Stamp
with Jessica Muise, Old Orchard Beach/Saco Adult Education
Discover a fun and easy way to add your creative touch to cards, wrapping paper, fabric, and other DIY projects! Make and use rubber stamps and special ink to create unique patterns and designs on all sorts of materials. Design and fabricate your own soft rubber stamp and use it to print on a variety of new and recycled materials. Emphasis is placed on tool safety and showing you tips and tricks to start carving and printing at home. Leave with basic tools, materials, and at least one custom-made block stamp (snowflake, heart or shamrock) to take home and reuse. Students are welcome to bring with them paper or fabric projects to test the stamp created in class.
Jessica Muise, a multidisciplinary artist and educator has been teaching and making art throughout New England for the last 15 years. She is passionate about using the arts as tools for social change and serves as a consultant to artists, nonprofit organizations, and coalitions for social change.
