This course is a great transitional course from Basic Math to Algebra I. The course will also prepare you for the HiSET Math Prep course. This course will cover integers, expressions, equations, linear functions, graphing, real numbers, right triangles, percent, distance, surface area and volume. Capture a bouquet with watercolor and ink! We’ll explore techniques for illustrative ink drawing with ‘dip pens’, and layering and mixing vibrant and organic hues with watercolor. Students will leave with their own unique composition of a bouquet. Students can either buy themselves the required materials - the materials list is linked here - or they can buy material kits from the Mix, an art store in Brunswick (here is a link to a student-grade kit, and here is a link to an artist-grade kit).

Compassion meditation helps to bring more understanding and empathy toward others and yourself. Join this 2-hour mini-retreat to explore variations of Loving-Kindness meditation and a compassion practice which can be integrated informally into daily life. We will close with a brief period of discussion. All levels of experience are welcome. Please bring a yoga mat and a journal. Facilitator: Heather Shaughnessy-Cato.
