An online meet and greet to hold space for conversations surrounding your students. Topics surround family unit cohesion. Including subjects like the influence of social media, proactive vs reactive planning, dinner conversation starters, etc.

Oyster Farm & Complimentary Tasting Sea Kayak Tour
with Alice Bean Andrenyak, Merrymeeting Community & Adult Education
Paddle during our 3 hour sea kayak tour and learn about Maine's Aquaculture industry. We will learn about lobstering, clamming, fishing and we'll stop at Mere Point Oyster Company's strings to learn about oyster farming. We will head to an island to land for a break for snacks that you brought and to learn to shuck oysters before the complimentary tasting. Oyster sauces include lemon juice, chipotle Tabasco sauce and Alice's Famous Maine Blueberry Mignonette sauce. Weather conditions unsafe for paddling will cancel the trip. June 14, 2024.
RELAX AND PAINT WITH SUE, JUNE SESSION

It’s been a long week, and time to relax! Join local artist Sue Cannafarina for this two-hour class of monthly Friday evening painting fun while learning techniques used by the impressionists and Bob Ross (Lol). Bring a beautiful image to life ranging from still lifes, landscapes, and object studies. No experience is necessary, and all materials are provided. These are great opportunities to spend time with friends or make new ones. Bring home a work of art each meeting! Classes run once a month through June. Please Note: Each month is a separate session. Each session is $30/pp/per class. Pre-registration for each class is required as class size is limited.
Maine Driving Dynamics
with MSAD#1 Adult & Community Education
The Maine Driving Dynamics course is a driver improvement course that is designed to improve a student's defensive driving awareness. This five-hour course includes discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine's highways. Our goal is to save lives, prevent injuries, and reduce vehicle-related crashes.
A student who completes the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record and may be eligible for insurance discount.

Beginning February 24th, 2020, fees for canceled registrations will no longer be refunded. No show, no refund.
Folded Bark Baskets

The bark of some trees, like pine and birch, is a special, very unique material that has been collected consciously by humans for thousands of years. Bark can be very strong, durable, water-resistant and flexible; it has been traditionally used to make baskets, canisters and even canoes! Birch bark is also very flammable and can be used to start campfires.Learn to identify, regeneratively gather, process, store and make a folded basket of birch or pine bark. We’ll use hand-gathered spruce roots and brown ash splints to sew a rim on our folded birch bark baskets, which will be beautiful. All required tools and materials provided.
