Maximize your social security benefit by learning the ins and outs of when and how to file. Learn about your IRA and when may be the best time to file in order to maximize your income for retirement. Learn about your full retirement age (FRA) and how your date of birth affects your payout and potentially reduces your benefit. Divorcees, widows, and widowers may learn if and how they are entitled to claim benefits based on the record of their former spouses.

Sourdough isn't just for bread! Did you know you can add it to cakes, cookies, pastries, and other baked goods? Discover how to properly incorporate sourdough into some favorite recipes while keeping the balance and integrity of the other ingredients and giving them flavor complexity that you will love! This is a demonstration class, however, students are welcome to either watch or join us in the kitchen. Bring an apron and baggies for leftovers. Recipes provided.

Mary Bailey, pastry chef and past owner/chef of Thyme and Honey Bakery in Biddeford, is passionate about baking bread and teaching people how to incorporate homemade bread into their daily lives.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is a meditative yoga practice, also known as "yogic sleep", that encourages a consciousness residing between sleep and awake. It is a guided meditation that focuses on relaxation and/or conscious dreaming. The class is practiced laying down, comfortable and supported with props, where the mind, body and senses are guided by the instructor into a physiological state of rest. Yoga nidra offers a break from the sensory overload often induced by busy life, screens and media. Among the many health benefits associated with yoga nidra are: improved sleep quality, stress-reduction, enhanced cognitive function, and a general sense of well-being. No previous experience necessary.

Cuban Salsa

In this class, students will learn the basics of the Salsa footwork and some simple, fun moves that will get you out on the dance floor. You will learn how to connect with any partner, and build confidence dancing to different styles and tempos and music. Students will be introduced to the famous Salsa Rueda. Partner is recommended.

Finish those UFOs (aka unfinished objects) or start a new one. Pick up helpful tips from fellow stitchers and make new friends! Escape those constant interruptions at home with over five hours of sewing and camaraderie. Show and tell is encouraged, and no one is too new to join in the fun! Bring handwork or your sewing machine and supplies. Iron, ironing board, cutting mats and rulers supplied.

Space is limited to 16 people so be sure to register early!

Come spend a relaxing morning with Jeannie. Through the use of collective consciousness you will have the opportunity to access your creative side. We will create a group mandala that will honor and support not only our group but women around the world. As our time together progresses you will experience a meditation and Reiki session that will not only help you feel balanced and centered but also full of love. You just might feel as though you have had a massage for your soul. Take the time to pause, fill your cup, and honor all that you do as a woman. *There will be a potluck lunch hosted outside the classroom at the end of the program, so bring your favorite dish! Merrymeeting has a refrigerator that participants can use to store food.
