YOGA 3

This intermediate class will explore the vast variety of yoga poses based in Anusara yoga. Anusara is a modern form of Hatha yoga that is heart-focused and alignment-based. Hatha yoga means the yoga of force. Please bring a mat, block, strap and blanket to class.

Open Studio Ceramics (Tuesday Sessions)

Are you comfortable with your clay abilities and just looking for a place to work and improve your skills? Join us in the Morse High School Ceramics Studio and start making all those things you have been dreaming up! This is not an instructor lead class, but the instructor will be on site working in case you need something. $65 for materials and studio fee, payable to instructor, must be paid on the first night of class. *Purchasing additional clay: The fee is an additional $65 to cover the firing, glazes and other consumables used during class. Please note: If you miss a class, you cannot make-up the class at another time. The ceramics schedule is very tight and these classes are usually full. Phlebotomy

Gain hands-on experience with evacuated tube systems, syringe transfer devices, and capillary collection systems. Learn the significance of tube additives and the correct order of draw to ensure specimen integrity.

Explore the circulatory system and blood composition, along with common laboratory tests associated with various body systems.
Throughout the program, students will gain in-depth knowledge of anatomy, venipuncture techniques, and safety protocols, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. Hands-on training will be emphasized, providing students with real-world experience in various phlebotomy methods, equipment handling, and specimen collection. By the end of this course, participants will be well-prepared to take on roles in hospitals, clinics, blood donation centers, and laboratories, with a strong understanding of ethical practices and patient interactions. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be prepared to sit for the NHA national certification exam.

CNA Plus Orientation Session (in-person)
with Vanessa Richards, Ellsworth Adult and Community Education
Ellsworth Adult & Community Education is working with MDI Hospital and Birch Bay Village to offer a Certified Nursing Assistant course. This orientation is an information session, providing you with enough information to determine if our CNA+ program is a good fit for you this winter. We will provide an overview of the program as well as provide information about the admissions process. This is an in-person session.
The CNA Plus program is a comprehensive hybrid with classroom sessions live online using ZOOM on Mondays and Tuesdays, 5:00p-8:30p; and lab sessions held in-person for 6 Wednesday evenings, followed by 5 in-person clinical sessions.
CNA Plus also offers BLS, CPR & First Aid, Digital Literacy Certification and a WorkReady credential. Pre-requisites are access to high speed internet, basic computer skills and a computer and sufficient reading skills for class success.
Interested students can begin on the Northstar Digital Literacy and WorkReady Credentials anytime. This orientation will provide you with all the information you need to decide if the CNA+ course is a good fit for you this winter.
This course is free for Maine residents who plan to work at a facility in this region. It is funded by a Strengthen Maine's Workforce Grant offered by the State of Maine.
Let It Go! Fiesta

"Let it Go with Tony" is under TDF (Tony Dance Fiesta LLC) and is not only a dance program that helps you physically by burning calories and keeping you fit, but it also helps you fight depression, it will encourage you to feel empowered and confident. It will be a time dedicated especially to you, where you will laugh, dance, without being judged. This class is for everybody, gender, age and shape… you will go at your own pace, just like you would in a nightclub or in a family party! Course fee is for 6 sessions with Tony.
Country & Latin Line Dancing Section 1

Learn a few line dances to bust out when a line dancing opportunity presents itself or simply because you want to try something new! Discover classic country line dances and popular Latin rhythms, including rumba, cha cha, salsa and more, in this fun, energetic class! Specific music and pattern requests will be taken the first night and taught whenever possible. All levels welcome! No partner required. Wear comfortable clothing and soft-soled shoes.
Elizabeth Richards has been teaching dance for more than 20 years. She loves watching the moment that steps 'click' for her students.

This course covers the basics of how to use Apple’s popular iPhone. This class starts with the basicsof how to log on using multiple methods from passcode to touch id to face recognition technology.Apple’s iCloud service will be discussed, including how it will help secure your data and allow yourdata to be used across multiple Apple devices. The App Store will be covered to find additionalapplications that may meet your varied interest and needs.

Maine Driving Dynamics

The Maine Driving Dynamics course is a driver improvement course that is designed to improve a student's defensive driving awareness. Course includes discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine's highways. Our goal is to save lives, prevent injuries, and reduce vehicle-related crashes.
