A Beginner's Guide to Embracing Today's Technology

Are you, a friend, or a relative feeling overwhelmed by technology? Have you or someone you know avoided it for so long that it now feels daunting? Whether you're too embarrassed to ask for help or heavily relying on others for assistance, this class is designed for you. Our course offers a gentle, step-by-step introduction to the essential technologies that can simplify and enrich your daily life.
Each week, we’ll explore a new topic, starting with the basics and building your confidence as we go. You'll gain a better understanding of how technology works and how you can use it to your advantage.We'll cover a wide range of subjects, including:
- The origins of technology and how networks and Wi-Fi operate
- Introduction to smartphones, tablets, and laptops
- Overview of email, texting, and chatting
- Navigating Roku, Google, YouTube, Facebook, and online calendars
- Understanding voice assistants like Google, Siri, and Alexa
- Using ZOOM, online banking, and shopping on Amazon
- Best practices for passwords, logins, and safe browsing
- Recognizing and avoiding online threats like viruses, phishing, malware, and ransomware
Each session will include a review of the previous week and a look at something new.
No computer is required for this class—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to learn.

WATERCOLOR S2 Intermediate

Learn and practice a variety of techniques and approaches specific to watercolor painting. Whether a beginner or experienced, enjoy a relaxing and supportive environment to paint from references, still life objects and observation. You will receive feedback and see what others are working on. Bring ideas for projects to class for instruction tailored to your needs, or participate in guided exercises to gain a deeper understanding of this medium. You may bring your own supplies, if you prefer to purchase your own supplies, please request a materials list at registration.

Human Reformer Pilates

Human Reformer Pilates is a way to harness the potential of your own body, using it as the ultimate reformer. With just 1 resistance band, you can capture all the postural, core, and alignment challenges that reformer work is famous for– courtesy of Pilates mat programming that mirrors traditional reformer exercises.
Equipment that will be used in class include: a yoga mat and a Flex Cord or 48” resistance band or something equivalent

BHP: Behavioral Health Professional Training

START ANYTIME!!
Our community is looking for individuals who want to make a difference in a child’s life.
Children’s Behavioral Health Services are vital to Maine’s children with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health Disorders and their families. And the need in our area is great!
As an integral part of the child’s treatment team, a Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) has the opportunity to make an immediate impact while helping a child grow and develop to their full potential.
We are excited to connect our community to this wonderful ONLINE training program. The online training will equip you to help children who are receiving Behavior Health services. The training will prepare you for employment through local social services agencies. The program can be started at any time and finished at your own pace.
You will complete 12 online modules then 3 4-hour live sessions, including the new ethics and boundaries training. Once the modules are completed, you will receive free online blood borne pathogen training and virtual First Aid & CPR training if you do not already possess those certifications. The entire training requirements will take about 45 hours.
Any individual who will be 18 years of age or older upon completion of the course may register.

Utilizing combination movement patterns in a targeted, rhythmic progression, its superpower is the dynamic integration of upper and lower body movements set to fun music. The result? A sweat-drenched, functionally efficient workout that will challenge your body in new ways, improve lean muscle mass, and rev your metabolism. In these classes you will want a set of hand weights anywhere from 5–15lbs. *All virtual classes are recorded and sent to students for practice.

According to the Labor Department, there should be more than 91,000 openings for dental assistants up to the year 2020. That amounts to more than 30% employment growth, which is much faster than the average for all professions. The need for so many more dental assistants is easy to cipher: A large aging population intensifies the demand for quality healthcare and qualified practitioners.
