Algebra and Number Skills: Online College Support

Note: This class will be offered virtually through a combination of email, texting, Zoom, and/or online learning. Students may occasionally be required to come to Skowhegan Area High School for testing. A math CASAS score of 225 or above is recommended for this class.
These online tutoring sessions will help support students who are enrolled or are prepariung to enroll in Algebra I and/or entry-level college math.
Sessions must be scheduled with the instructor. Contact the Adult Education office at 207-474-7553 for more details.
HiSET: Prepping for the Tests
with Cathy Giuffre-Renaud, Windham/Raymond Adult Education

HiSET® pre-testing, test-taking strategies, and skill building are offered to prepare students for successful completion of Maine’s High School Equivalency Test (HiSET®) formerly known as the GED. Rolling admissions. Online learning is set up with the ABE Coordinator.

Senior Fitness - Online
with Karen Dove, RSU 24 Adult Education

This class is being offered online using Zoom.
Designed with the mature person in mind, this class will address the components of over-all fitness at each person's ability level.
The class helps you become stronger through cardiovascular activities (strengthening the heart and lungs), muscular strength and endurance (using weights) and flexibility through warm-up and cool-down stretching and yoga.
Class meets regularly, and you can start and stop any time.
It is recommended that you bring 1-2 lb weights; wear comfortable clothes that let you move; and gym shoes to give your feet support. Always check with your doctor before beginning an exercise program.
Note: Starting March 31st, Senior Fitness will be meeting on Monday and Thursday.

Walking
with Kathy Nyborg, RSU 24 Adult Education

THIS CLASS CURRENTLY RUNS YEAR ROUND, SO JOIN AT ANY TIME.
Want to stay active? Get into a walking routine! Join Kathy at the Sorrento-Sullivan Recreation Center for an hour of walking. You can saunter, power walk or speed walk. Whatever your pace you can do it safely. Meets regularly, and you can start and stop any time. Check out the new Age Friendly Sullivan walking path by the playground!
