Have a garden that looks and tastes great! Join Master Gardener Joel Leak as he discusses different trees, shrubs, vegetables, herbs, and flowers to incorporate into an edible landscape. Whether you have limited space and want to grow produce in your front yard, or you just want to spruce up an old vegetable garden, Joel will provide plenty of ideas to add color, shapes, texture, and of course, flavor to your garden. Joel Leak has been a Master Gardener since 2001 and has been gardening for over 50 years. He teaches Adult Education classes in vegetable gardening, fruit trees, culinary herbs, and growing berries. He lives in Falmouth where he maintains a large vegetable garden, berries bushes, fruit trees, and an incredible edible hedge.

This class will begin with an overview of basic estate planning, including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives, etc. The class will then delve into, learning how revocable trusts can help avoid probate and protect your privacy, and how irrevocable trusts can protect your assets from a nursing home or Maine Care (Medicaid) liens.  The discussion will include other strategies to safeguard assets from life events such as business failure or divorce of adult children.

Kathryn Bedell is a lawyer in York, Maine, and has been practicing for 31 years. Her practice focuses on estate planning, asset preservation, and probate matters.

Come learn about the aspirational and financial impacts of savings for students of all ages, as well as the program highlights of Maine’s Section 529 plan, a tool many families use to prepare for higher education expenses. Also, take home some tips and tricks for getting a jump-start on the scholarship search while your child is in middle school/ early high school.  Join Marie Pelletier, College Savings Counselor from the Finance Authority of Maine for this 1 hour virtual session and get started with saving for your child or grandchild’s higher education. 

We are happy to partner with the Finance Authority of Maine to present a series of free, virtual workshops on scholarships, planning to pay for college, loans, and financial wellness.

A zoom link will be sent with your registration confirmation email, as well as with a reminder email which will be sent out 2 days prior to the sart of the workshop.  Workshops will be recorded ans shared with you.
