Authentic Movement, also known as Contemplative Dance, is an expressive, improvisational movement practice that allows participants a type of free association of the body. A simple form of self-directed, moving meditation where we pay attention to our inclination to move or to be still, we cultivate a practice of deep listening. Dancers, musicians, writers, artists, etc. find it a wonderful practice for discovering and exploring creative imagery. No dance experience is needed. Wear comfortable clothes. A free introductory class will be offered on Saturday, Feb. 15, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Limit 10 students. Storm date May 2.

Join local music instructor, Juan Rodriguez, to explore the musical genre of Jazz Guitar. Whether you have just begun to play guitar or have experience and what to explore more, this workshop will broaden your love for Jazz. Students will need to supply their own instruments. Additional lessons can be extended upon individual request. Limit 10 students. Storm date of May 2.

Just Once Guitar for Busy People

Have you ever wanted to learn the guitar, but simply find it difficult to find the time? In just a few hours you’ll learn enough about playing the guitar to give you years of musical enjoyment and you won’t have to take private lessons! This crash course teaches some basic chords and will get you playing along with your favorite songs right away. Topics include: how chords work in a song, how to form the three main types of chords, how to tune your guitar, basic strumming patterns, how to buy a good guitar, and how to play along with simple tunes. Bring your acoustic guitar to class. A materials fee of $29.00 for workbook and practice DVD is included in your registration.

East Coast Swing

Learn enough in this class to go right out onto the dance floor! Class size is limited so register early.

Guitar - Beginners

Learn the basic elements of the six-string guitar and be introduced to chords, various strumming styles and the keys to playing along with your favorite music. Kevin uses quick learning tips to have fun learning how to tune the strings and play basic chords from different musical genres. The class is for beginners, children and adult guitar enthusiasts. Students must bring a six-string guitar to the class.
