This class is for students who have taken Beginner Guitar in prior semesters or have already learned to play and want to get together with others at a similar level to practice. In this informal gathering of musicians, you will play improvised or unrehearsed music in an "open studio” class ideal for you to work on songs and techniques not finished in class or that you need help with. Class is suitable for acoustic 6 string guitar or bass. You must be able to play sufficiently including being able to play basic chords.

While regular piano teachers teach note reading, piano professionals use chords. You can learn all the chords you will need to play any song in one session. Any song! Any style! Any key! Topics include: how chords work in a song, how to get more out of sheet music by reading less of it, how to form the three main types of chords, how to handle different keys and time signatures, how to avoid “counting” and how to simplify over 12,000 complex chords.
