ZUMBA

The class that started the dance-fitness revolution and changed the way we look at a “workout” forever. It’s fun, effective and best of all? Made for everyone! It is a dance fitness cardio class with roots in latin rhythms. Wear sneakers and comfortable clothes, bring water and a towel. Erin has been teaching Zumba since 2014, with hundreds of students across Maine and beyond! Holistic Health & Wellness
with Michelle Spencer, Gray-New Gloucester Adult Education
In this 6 week course, you will learn the importance of movement, stress reduction, self-care (including sleep strategies, rest, self-love, self-forgiveness) healthy nutrition, mindfulness and healthy relationships to improve your overall well being.
This course will be done on Zoom in a lecture format with time at the end for Q & A. Journal prompts, hand-outs, text, phone call or email check-ins will be provided. There will be a FREE Zoom meeting to go over the course at the end of the 6 week session.
Michelle Spencer is a Holistic Healthcare Provider with years of experience in Health Counseling, Life Coaching, Nutrition and Yoga4Therapy.

Knitting
with Victoria Vaughn, Noble Adult & Community Education
Join us for a fun, no pressure knitting experience! This 7-week knitting class is great for not only beginners, but for anyone who may be a little rusty. You'll learn how to cast on, master the basic and purl stitches, learn some tips and tricks on repairing mistakes, and learn how to read a pattern! Vicky is a passionate knitter and always makes classes fun for her students.
Now offering back-to-back daytime and evening classes!
Cant make a full session? Student drop-ins are welcome! Drop-In fee is $12 per class.
Wheel Pottery (beginners- April 23-May 28)
with Patricia Hayes, MSAD #37 Adult & Community Education
Class for wheel pottery involves learning about the basics of clay and forming on the pottery wheel. Beginners start with centering and forming and by the end of the six-week class can make small bowls or cups and have completed at least 7-8 items which they have been glazed and fired. There is an additional $20 material fee due to the instructor the first night of class. Limited to 6 participants during each session.
Relaxation and Stress Reduction with Hatha Yoga
with Michelle Spencer, Gray-New Gloucester Adult Education
This 60-minute Yoga class will provide sequences that calms the nervous system along with stretching/warming the muscles and preparing the mind to rest. Breathing techniques, short meditation and positive affirmations will end the practice.

Zumba® Fitness APRIL/MAY

Your favorite dance party is back!
Classes move between high and low intensity dance moves designed to get your heart rate up and boost cardio endurance.
A fun class that feels more like a “night out” than a work out!
Class can be done in-person or virtually with a Zoom account (camera must be left on and participant visible.)

Acrylic Painting
with Gayle Fitzpatrick, Kittery Adult Education
This class covers composition, color theory, and color mixing as well as materials and techniques. You’ll learn and practice the fundamentals of painting with acrylics. Class time will provide time for experimentation, creativity and the opportunity to work on your own projects with guidance from the instructor. Beginner and Intermediate painters are both welcome! Class size limited to 10.

with Duncan Perry, Kittery Adult Education
Learn to play the ukulele! It has never been more popular and you don’t even have to know how to read music! On the uke you can knock out folk music, rock, blues, jazz, pop, country, tunes old and new -- even classical music. Duncan Perry, who has taught more than 700 students of all ages, will introduce you to essential chords and playing techniques using commonly known songs. You will need a playable ukulele and an electronic tuner or a tuner app. If you don’t own a ukulele, please contact us for information. Here’s your chance to find out how to play this wonderfully versatile, go anywhere instrument in our no-stress program for beginners.Pick the session that works for you. Prior to class, you will be sent a ZOOM link to join this class virtually.
