Class topic and discussion of getting older, living longer, and enjoying the process: What is a Blue Zone? What’s love got to do with it? What moves you? What is in your genes? Let’s explore these questions and share the journey! Please pre-register as we need a minimum of 4 people to run the course.

The MEOC works with adults who are interested in furthering their education. We are able to help individuals explore career options. Depending on the career and path you have chosen, it may be supporting you while you are completing a high school diploma/HiSet, a certificate, or a college degree. We also help you fill out college applications and the FASFA. For others, the focus is on finding the funds available to them through grants and scholarships.

Once you have registered for a session the instructor will contact you.  She will see what your needs are and if you would like to meet in person, over the phone or via zoom.

This class is the first step to register for our high school completion program. Find out if HiSET(formerely GED) is a good fit for you, or is an adult education diploma a better option?  

Come meet with our staff, learn what can be accomplished at RSU13 Adult & Community Education, and complete the registration paperwork needed to begin a learning program.

At the end of the Info & Enrollment Session, students will receive a link to register for the Foundations Course (required) to begin their academic program. Students may choose take schedule free HiSET practice tests (optional). Practice tests take approximately 45 minutes to complete and will be scheduled separatley.

This course will cover the basics of how to use Apple’s operating system which works on Apple’spopular line of laptops and desktops. This class starts with the basic functions of the MacOSoperating system and how to navigate through folders, files, and menus. Organizing, moving, andsaving files will be covered too.

Required for this class: A MacOS computer connected to the internet.

Plus, immerse yourself in the experience by sampling a curated selection of essential oils. Join us for an aromatic adventure where your emotions take center stage. You will be gifted an essential oil to take home.

Author and instructor Mike Wilson will demonstrate how to use your smartphone. This class is designed for mature and recent iPhone users! Mike will cover cell phone topics, such as: the photo app, texting, navigating, apps, contacts, email, camera, App store, settings, and the internet. NOT for Android users. Taught over Zoom.

To enroll in our academic classes, we ask that you attend our one-on-one 3-hour Orientation session. This Orientation provides you with information about all of our academic programs, helps you decide what program best fits your needs, and provides us with information to help you make those decisions.

Japanese knotweed (Reynoutria japonica or Fallopia japonica) is known as one of the most frustrating invasive species in the world. Frequently planted along riverbanks as a means of controlling erosion, it is often favored by pollinators, yet quickly overruns landscapes and smothers native plant species. Knotweed also makes a delicious, healthy and versatile vegetable, similar to rhubarb. We can help to manage the overgrowth of this powerful invasive by eating it! Learn to manage, harvest, gather, process, and eat Japanese knotweed. We'll cover identification, removal, gathering, processing, cooking over an open fire, and future storage. Everyone gets a jar of sweet knotweed sauce to take home, which you may further dehydrate for fruit leather.
