Alcohol Ink Tile Coaster Spring 2024

Work with rescued tiles, alcohol ink, and resin to create a set of four 4x4 unique coasters. Please bring: an apron, box of disposable gloves, alcohol inks of your choice, 99% rubbing alcohol, sturdy glue (e-6000), glitter, felt, small paint brushes, metallic markers and a small 2-part resin kit. Tiles will be provided by the instructor.

Driftwood Mobiles & Stabiles - Theory and Practice

Join Chris for a workshop using upcycled driftwood and wire to create original art that moves in the slightest air currents. Depending on your preference your creation may hang from the ceiling or sit on a table or shelf. All materials will be provided. Please bring a pair of needle nose pliers if you have them.

MaineStream Finance is offering this hoMEworks approved homebuyer education class. Class participants who attend all classes receive a homebuyer education certificate, recognized by Maine State Housing Authority and Rural Development. The certificate is good for 2 years. Homebuyer education class attendees over the years have given the classes high ranks and recommend that every first-time homebuyer consider taking the class. Note: last night of class will end before 8:30. Cash or check only, no credit or debit card payments.

An Introduction to Breathwork - How you breathe influences how you feel.

Lay essential foundations for developing a safe, effective home practice. 

Learn different breathing exercises (practice) and how to apply them in real life.

Guided breathwork practice each week .

This course can help you: 

- Reset and calm your nervous system

- Relieve stress & anxiety

- Restore quality sleep

- Improve attention & focus

- Increase energy levels

Please bring a yoga mat, comfortable clothing, and a light stomach. 

T.J. Farnum is a Breathwork Coach and a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

**Participants can attend all four sessions by registering now or drop-in attedance is also available at $15/session, payable at the time of the class.

Has this long winter made you dream about strawberries and perhaps making some jams and jellies? Join Deborah Barnett from the UMaine Cooperative Extention in this hands-on food preservation workshop! You will learn the basics steps for both canning and freezing. Participants will receive a "Preserving the Harvest" food preservation packet and will learn the latest and safest recipes, about equipment to insure safety, and how to check for properly sealed jars. Please bring a potholder with you to the workshop, as you will be able to take home a jar of what we prepare that evening! There will be a $20 material fee (cash or check only) due to the instructor at the start of class. Limit 10 students.

Introduction to the Pottery Wheel - Hampden Academy

Satisfy your curiosity about clay! Come get your hands dirty in this fun introduction to throwing clay on the pottery wheel! This 4 session class will provide hands-on instruction covering the fundamentals of throwing clay: centering, opening, pulling up and shaping your pots. You’ll learn about the stages that clay goes through – from wet, to leather-hard, to bone-dry and about the hand-tools used for trimming and creating texture on pots. Please wear casual, loose fitting clothes and closed-toe shoes that can get dirty.

Three Sessions to choose from, each limited to 4 students due to the number of pottery wheels.            

Session 3: May 6, 8, 10, 15             6-7:30 pm

Course Fee: $40
