Make Your Own Coffee Mug

Learn basic hand-building techniques to create a unique, microwave- and dishwasher-safe ceramic mug. We’ll explore pinch, coil, and slab construction, experiment with handles, and add surface design through texture and carving. Glazing will be done later by Janna or by participants. All materials included; $20 materials fee payable to the instructor. No experience necessary.

Sewing Open Studio

Every sewist knows what it’s like to cut their fabric on the floor and then sew at the kitchen table. We also know it’s a bit lonely and sometimes frustrating to find help when we are stuck on a particularly baffling pattern instruction. Whether you’re trying to complete unfinished projects or start new ones, Nancy will be on hand to guide you through the difficult spots. Bring your sewing machine and supplies, or do hand work.

NACE has irons, ironing boards, cutting mats, and rulers available to use during class time. If you need to borrow a sewing machine, please let us know ahead of the class.

Senior Rate (65+) is $45. Please call or stop by the office to register.

Hand Stamped Interactive Greeting Card: Halloween Fortune Teller

In this class, we will follow step by step instructions to create an interactive greeting card. You will leave with a not so spooky fortune teller tabby card! There is a turnable wheel that reveals different sayings in the crystal ball. We will also make a Halloween treat holder to give to a special someone. Precut kits and envelopes are provided. Participants need a pair of scissors and colored pencils or markers.

Joy of Watercolor

This class is designed for intermediate watercolorists. While you do not need to be an advanced student, you should be familiar with your supplies, art terms and comfortable painting with professional watercolor materials. The course accommodates various skill levels while maintaining a focus on fundamental techniques. The first hour of each class features instruction and hands-on exercises related to the week's topic. Students will also explore the work of contemporary and historical watercolorists. During the second hour, students work on personal projects with individual guidance. You may choose between a quick project focused on the day's topic or continue developing a longer-term piece. Materials list will be provided by the instructor.
